The controversial Turkish series will return for season 2 in late September! Here are all the updates.
Love 101 (Aşk 101) is a Turkish teen drama series that became quite controversial after rumors that one of its characters may be gay.
The rumor spread like wildfire in the extremely conservative country, prompting Netflix to issue an official statement denying the claims.
Despite this, the series directed by Ahmet Katıksız and written by Meriç Acemi and Destan Sedolli, managed to release eight episodes.

Indeed it is! A Turkish website confirmed that Love 101 season 2 is officially happening. According to Fanatik, the Turkish series finished filming a total of 16 episodes, spanning two seasons, within seven months of production. Filming for the series began on June 26, 2019, and wrapped up in February 2020.
Season 1 dropped eight episodes altogether on April 24, 2020. Hence, the remaining eight episodes shall cover season 2.
From the way season 1 ended, it is quite obvious that the showrunners are planning for more.
Before Netflix announced the release date, we already predicted that the series will return for season 2 this year, despite the pandemic.
On September 9, 2021, Netflix dropped the official trailer for 'Love 101' season 2, confirming that our predictions are correct.
'Love 101' season 2 will arrive on Netflix on September 30, 2021.
The main cast members will reprise their roles for season 2.
The Turkish cast members of the series include Mert Yazıcıoğlu as Sinan, Kubilay Aka as Kerem, Alina Boz as Eda, Selahattin Paşalı as Osman, İpek Filiz Yazıcı as Işık, Pınar Deniz as Burcu, Kaan Urgancıoğlu as Kemal, Müfit Kayacan as Necdet, Bade İşçil as adult Işı, Tuba Ünsal as adult Eda.
Love 101 follows a group of students who tries to make their teacher fall in love with the basketball coach to save themselves from getting in trouble at school.
Back in 1998, a group of students is about to get expelled from a school in Istanbul over numerous offenses. All the teachers and faculty are against them, except Burcu, the only teacher who understands and tries to protect the misfits from trouble.
After learning that Burcu will get relocated, the students came up with a plan to play cupid and try to make Burcu fall in love and eventually marry another teacher since the Turkish law will only allow Burcu to choose a place to work after she's married.
While trying to execute the crazy idea, the students find themselves on a rather unexpected journey to self-discovery and friendship, ultimately becoming better versions of themselves.
Season one concluded with many open-ending questions and mysteries that need to get answered in season 2.
Towards the end of season one, Burcu manages to save Osman, Isik, Sinan, Eda, and Kerem from getting expelled from the school for one last time. However, no secrets can be hidden forever.
Burcu and Kemal learn about how the students meddled in their romantic life. Kemal is determined to fight for Burcu despite how they began.
When season 2 finally arrives, we are expecting to see a continuation of Burcu and Kemal's romance. Now that the truth is finally out, will Burcu still be able to trust Kemal and the students she once loved and protected?
Also, who is knocking on the door that startled Eda and Isik in the final moments of season 1? Did Sinan commit suicide? All of these, and more, must be answered in the upcoming season.
