The Legends are coming face to face with aliens in the upcoming season.
CW has a lot of things in store for its 4th superhero series in the Arrowverse, 'Legends of Tomorrow'.
After airing 5 successful seasons in recent years, the series was renewed again for season 6 in May 2020.
The upcoming season is bringing in new creatures, along with new faces to push our beloved superheroes to their limits once again.
Here's all you need to know.
There's no release date yet, but you'll be happy to know that production for season 6 is already underway.
Star Caity Lotz confirmed the show's production status on October 9, 2020, through a video she posted on Instagram taken on her first day back at stunt rehearsal.
On December 11, 2020, she confirmed that she was in the process of directing an episode.
With the upcoming season still in production, we'll have to wait for a while before seeing the new series.
Season 6 was confirmed back on May 14, 2020. Aside from 'Legends Of Tomorrow', CW has a slate of DC superhero shows renewed for new seasons due for a 2021 release. These superhero shows include 'Supergirl', 'Black Lightning' (scheduled to release on February 8, 2021), and 'Batwoman; (which aired in January 2021 with new star Javicia Leslie).
Season 6 is going to be even more exciting with new creatures getting introduced. The showrunner revealed they're bringing in aliens for the next season.
"If these were all Dominators, it would get a little repetitive," Co-showrunner Phil Klemmer told Entertainment Weekly. "So we want to do the same thing we did for magical creatures but for aliens."
These extraterrestrial creatures may appear to be dangerous at the onset of the season, but Klemmer has bigger plans for these beings.
"We'll find a way to humanize and find the emotional complexity of Marvin the Martian, and by the time we get to the finale, we'll have to spend like half our time realizing they weren't so bad, they were just misunderstood."
We can also expect a continuation of Zari 2.0 and Constantine's performance in the upcoming season.
"It's really hard to break stories (for Zari and Constantine) because when you have them fight, who's supposed to win?" Klemmer told TV Guide.
Meanwhile, Nate is probably gonna stay away from romance for a while, after losing both Amaya and Zari.
"I think he's probably just given up...He needs to pursue some platonic relationships," Klemmer said.
Gary Green also has very interesting storylines instore for him.
Gary's comedic character is often taken as a joke, but he's been a tough warrior and even a threatening villain for a long time. Very little is known about the origins of his character, but we are expecting to know more about him in the new season. Entertainment Weekly reports, his origins are apparently "even more bizarre than you might imagine."
A notable number of legends have come and gone in the past seasons, but our lead stars are returning.
That includes Caity Lotz as Sara Lance, Dominic Purcell as Mick Rory, Nick Zano as Nate Heywood, Jes Macallan as Ava Sharpe, Matt Ryan as John Constantine, and Tala Ashe as Zari Tarazi.
Shayan Sobhian as Behrad and Olivia Swann as Astra will return for season 6 as series regulars for the first time. The two previously appeared in recurring roles and it's good to know they've earned a permanent casting.
Adam Tsekhman is also reprising his role after has also been promoted to series regular for his character Gary Green.
The upcoming season will also introduce us to new faces. Lisseth Chavez will star as Esperanza "Spooner" Cruz, someone who will help defend the human race from space aliens.
Aliyah O'Brien has also signed up to play the role of Kayla, who Comicbook described as "a fearsome warrior with a high body count and low patience for human incompetence."
We're expecting the season 6 trailer to drop a few months from now. We'll immediately update this space once CW releases it.
For now, here is 'Legends Of Tomorrow' Season 5's trailer to enjoy.
