Jurassic World Dominion is the threequel to the Jurassic World series. It is the sixth film in the series that was first released in 1993.

With the last film of the Jurassic World trilogy, we are taking a trip down memory lane as we are reunited with the original cast who were a part of the Jurassic Park trilogy. We saw Dr. Alan Grant, Dr. Ellie Sattler, and Dr. Ian Malcolm in the trailer. It is an exciting time for old fans and new ones to be able to see the film set to hit theaters on June 10, 2022.

The Jurassic Park stars Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum, and Sam Neill, are now sharing what it feels like to be a part of the buzz surrounding their appearance in the film. Speaking to Vanity Fair, the three actors noted that a lot has changed in the world of cinema since they were previously a part of the big-budget film trilogy. “I think no one really understood what we were up to,” Dern said of their involvement in the films nearly three decades ago. “Just Steven Spielberg was making a movie, and it might have something to do with dinosaurs.”

Recalling the first time they met for the Jurassic Park shoot on the Hawaiian island of Kauai, Goldberg said, “We hadn’t met. Never at a party or in passing or anything.” They are now great friends who grew closer after the hotel they were staying at was destroyed by Hurricane Iniki, a Category 4 tropical cyclone. “Partly because of the hurricane, I think we really made a family,” Dern noted. The pandemic and its restrictions, for the shoot of Dominion, acted the same way for the cast and crew who had to live in their social bubble to ensure safety. This was one of the first films to pick up production after restrictions were eased. The shoot took place mostly near London.

“I think there was a bit of tenuousness at first," Director Colin Trevorrow stated, "with me wondering, ‘Is their dynamic going to echo the dynamic of the characters in the movie? Do Jeff and Sam actually have a problem with each other?’ None of those things ended up being true. They have a completely unique dynamic that is all their own. I just had to learn it over time.” The trio could easily slip into their roles. "We knew the knitting pattern," Neill said of the ease with which they were able to take on their characters from almost 30 years ago.

The cast could not say much about the film and its plot since it is another thing that has changed from last time. Plots of films are highly confidential. “On a lot of these projects…you’re like, oh, yes, I won’t tell anybody. But I don’t remember specifically that we were [asked], don’t reveal the dinosaurs or anything,” Goldblum recalled. But in a previous interview with PEOPLE Dern had stated: "Saving butts might be involved"—though she "won't say whose."

She also added, about the trio's reunion "I can say that it was incredible to be back together. It was an amazing thing to join my original cast members and go down memory lane, from that experience at the beginning of a franchise through the whole course of these films together with all the key cast members who have been working on these movies, as well as Colin Trevorrow and Steven Spielberg, who is like family to me."
