Edgar Wright's next big film "Last Night In Soho" is almost here. Here's everything we know about it so far.
Edgar Wright is back with a brand new film! The director who is responsible for masterpieces such as Shaun Of The Dead, Hot Fuzz, Baby Driver and Scott Pilgrim Vs The World is coming out with a new film called "Last Night In Soho". Here's everything we know so far about it.
Last Night In Soho is scheduled to be released on September 25th, 2020 by Focus Features. According to director Edgar Wright, filming has officially wrapped. He made the announcement via his Instagram page.
Anya Taylor-Joy plays the lead character in the film. She will be joined by former Doctor Who Matt Smith, and Thomasin Harcourt McKenzie. Collider reported that the film will be set both in the 60s and the present day.
"Taylor-Joy will play the lead in the ’60s, while McKenzie will play a fashion student in modern-day scenes, according to sources," wrote Jeff Sneider. "I hear Smith will be playing Taylor-Joy’s manager of sorts, though it’s unclear whether that makes her an actress, a singer or something else entirely."
The film follows a young girl, passionate about fashion, who mysteriously is able to go back in time to London in the 60s. There she meets her idol, a dazzling wannabe singer. But things begin falling apart for the young girl when she realizes that London's 1960s is not what it seems.
In an interview with Empire, Wright spoke about the film saying:
I realised I had never made a film about central London – specifically Soho, somewhere I’ve spent a huge amount of time in the last 25 years. With Hot Fuzz and Shaun Of The Dead you make movies about places you’ve lived in. This movie is about the London I’ve existed in.
