Has Kotaro Lives Alone Been Renewed For Season 2?
Netflix has not yet said if the show has been picked up for another season.
Most of the time, Netflix doesn’t renew an anime show in the first few weeks or even months after it comes out, unless they say so ahead of time.
We fully expect Kotaro Lives Alone to be renewed soon, since both critics and viewers have given it such great reviews.
It is important to note that the anime has only made it into the top ten on Netflix in five countries. It does stand out because it made it into the top ten in Japan, where it peaked at number three on March 13th.
What Can We Expect In Kotaro Lives Alone Season 2?
We learned a lot about the sad and upsetting events that led Kotaro to live by himself during the first season.
Because his parents didn’t care about him, many of Kotaro’s funny habits came from being ignored or going through a traumatic event in his past. For example, Kotaro had to eat tissues when he was hungry.
Thanks to Karino, Kotaro’s neighbor, the little boy has always had someone to watch over him, and Karino grows fonder of the boy every day.
Kotaro has many more small adventures around his neighborhood awaiting him, but thanks to the shocking discovery made by Karino, Kotaro is yet to learn that his mother has passed away.
Even though Kotaro’s dad is still alive, he abused the kid and can’t see him. At this point, Karino is the only family member that Kotaro really has.
What we learned online is that the first season finished around the end of volume 4 of the manga which has 8 so far. This means that at least four more volumes are ready to be turned into anime.
When Will Kotaro Lives Alone Season 2 Be Available?
It’s possible that Kotaro Lives Alone has already been picked up for a second season, and if so, we could see more episodes by the end of the year or the beginning of 2026
