At the end of 'Eternals,' we see Dane Whitman talking to Sersi about his family history, it is the first time we see another human character finding out something ominous about their life.

While talking about his film Baby Ruby with interviewer Josh Horowitz, Kit Harington gave fans a little taste of what might be coming for his Eternals character soon, ScreenRant reported. The last time we saw Harington in Eternals, his character Dane Whitman or Black Knight starts looking into his family history while also telling his partner Sersi about it. But before anything could be revealed about his family history, Sersi gets taken away by Arishem.

However, we do have some form of closure at the end of the credits when we see Dane open an ominous-looking box with a sword in it. Before Dane could wrap his hand around the hilt of the cursed sword, we hear a mysterious voice from the background asking Dane not to do that. We later learn that the voice belongs to Mahershala Ali, the actor slated to play Blade in the MCU. While this appearance should confirm Harington’s appearance in the show with the same name, Kevin Feige has yet to make an announcement about how the character arc will go.

In this interview, Harington shares what he knows about the future of the character. “I, again…and this is true: I don’t know much of what they’re planning. And you know, I hope to be involved in future stuff, with that character, with Dane Whitman, and that he might go on and be the thing that everyone quotes at me in the street. But I honestly don’t know. I don’t know what their plans are. I know they’re going into a kind of Phase 5,” Harington said.

While this is disappointing, Marvel has a reputation for featuring its characters in surprise appearances. So, it is entirely possible that may we see these characters somewhere along the journey. It is to be noted though that the Eternals have no foreseeable future at the moment either. While the ending of the film confirmed that ‘Eternals will return,’ fans are yet to see any announcements regarding their appearances. During the San Diego Comic-Con and Disney’s D23 expo, the Marvel Studios announced many projects including Agatha: House of Harkness while confirming that Armor Wars will be coming soon, but there was no news of our immortal beings anywhere.

But Dane might just be Dane from the Natural History Museum. Because when he just got the role, he was trying to find out more about the character, Black Knight, but realizing how overwhelming it was he decided to keep it mellow, Inverse reported. “I did the reading on him and I quickly forgot about it as soon as I can,” Harington said. “None of that stuff’s real. What’s real is this movie, and who he is in this movie. He’s just Dane Whitman, at the Natural History Museum.”

In conversations with director Chloé Zhao, “we talked about how he represents humanity and that he’s a really good guy,” he said. “He’s chill. Sometimes that’s hard to do on camera.”
Harington’s mainstream success with the MCU is not new. He has been a successful recurring character on the show, Game of Thrones even getting a resurrection because of popular demand. Now, he is moving toward doing films like Baby Ruby, exploring fatherhood.
