Netflix's Kissing Booth 2 introduces new characters to spice up Noah and Elle's romantic adventures. Here are the latest updates and what you can expect from the sequel.
Kissing Booth is one of Netflix's most popular teen romantic comedies.
The film released in 2018 and was so massively successful that fans kept asking for a follow up on Elle and Noah's romantic adventures.
Netflix heard the requests of fans and announced that a sequel, Kissing Booth 2, is coming!
The filming finished since last year, does that mean we can expect to see the sequel in the streaming platform soon?
Here are all the updates you need to know on the Kissing Booth 2.
Joey King revealed in a Livestream on May 21st that Kissing Booth 2 will be released on July 24th, 2020.
It was first supposed to be released in the spring of this year but has now been pushed to the summer.
The previous time people saw Joey King on Netflix was during their Wanna Talk About It campaign, the streaming platform's weekly series about mental health on Instagram Live.
Netflix posted a photo related to the episode and was bombarded with questions asking where Kissing Booth 2 is. However, there were no answers, until now.
The sequel started filming in June 2019 and finished in October 2019.
Jacob Elordi and Joey King will reprise their roles as Noah and Elle. Although the two have already reportedly broken up in real life, they will continue to portray the on-screen romance for the sequel. Elle's best friend, Lee, will also be back with Joel Courtney reprising the role.
We are also expecting to see some new faces with Maisie Richardson-Sellers and Taylor Perez joining the cast as Chloe and Marco.
Meganne Young will come back as Rachel as well as other supporting actors Molly Ringwald, Bianca Bosch and, Carson White.
With Noah heading out for College and leaving Elle behind by the end of the first film, we are going to see if the couple's romance will continue to flourish despite the long distance.
Author Beth Reekles has already confirmed that the sequel will be based on her book, The Kissing Booth 2: Going the Distance.
Netflix has also teased Maisie Richardson-Sellers and Taylor Perez's Chloe and Marco role revealing "they are love interests...but not for each other.."
It looks like the added characters are gonna put Noah and Elle's love to the test, will they rise above it?
Interestingly, Netflix has not released an official trailer for the sequel yet. They only posted an announcement video for the sequel on Valentine's Day last year.
People were expecting to see the trailer months ago especially with Netflix's announcement that the film will release in Spring this year.
For now, we can only continue to hope that Kissing Booth 2 will arrive soon.
