Kendrick Lamar Becomes The First Rapper To Gross Over $14 Million From A Single Show

Kendrick Lamar has broken several records during his Grand National Tour with SZA.

After the pair’s May 17 performance at Seattle’s Lumen Field, Kendrick can add yet another honor to his long list of achievements.

Lamar is now the first rapper in history to earn over $14 million for a single performance, as the concert brought in $14.8 million.

With around 61,000 fans in attendance, it was the tour’s most attended event to date.

After a performance at Dallas’ AT&T Stadium pulled in an incredible $11.822 million in a single night, Kendrick smashed his own record with the feat.

Lamar became the highest-grossing Black male in history for a single live performance as a result of that performance.

The Weeknd previously held the record when his 2022 performance at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles brought in $9.8 million.

Lamar also broke the record for the highest-grossing rap concert in history on the first night of the Grand National tour.

Over 47,000 people attended the opening night in Minneapolis, which brought in over $9.1 million at an average price of $192.70, according to Touring Data.

Lamar broke Eminem’s record from the rap icon’s 2019 stadium performance in Melbourne, Australia, with the performance.

Lamar has been shattering long-standing chart records in addition to breaking records for live performances.

Recently, “Not Like Us” made history by being the first rap song to appear on the Billboard Hot 100 for a whole year.

No other hip-hop song has remained on the charts for longer than a year.

Even though “Not Like Us” was released in May of last year, the song is currently at number 22 on the list and has no indications of falling any time soon due to its strong streaming statistics and continued exposure.

The SZA duet “Luther,” which has now been at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 for 13 weeks in a row, is another example of Kendrick breaking records.

There are presently only 15 songs that have accomplished that feat, including “Luther.”

In addition, it is the longest-running Hip Hop number one in history to chart.
