Karen Gillan Says That She Wants To Keep Playing Nebula Even After Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3

Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3 may not be the last time we see Karen Gillan in the MCU as Nebula.

Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3 will most likely be the last film in the franchise. James Gunn and Dave Bautista are already all set to retire from the MCU, and the others may follow.

However, Karen Gillan isn't yet ready to give up her role as Nebula just yet. She will be returning as Nebula in the third Guardians Of The Galaxy film, but she wants to keep playing the character even after the cameras stop rolling on the films.

During a recent interview with the Hollywood Reporter, Karen Gillan spoke about her willingness to return as Nebula in other movies or TV shows. She says she has become emotionally attached to the character.

She said:

I love my character so much. I'm sort of obsessed with her. (Laughs.) I just get such a kick out of playing a character that's really removed from myself. But I also feel really emotionally invested in her through everything that she's gone through with Thanos and all of that. So I would love to continue the journey of the character. I don't know what that would really look like without James [Gunn] or Dave [Bautista], but I really like playing her, so I'm not eager to finish.

It'd be interesting to see how Nebula would make a return to the MCU after the Guardians Of The Galaxy movies. However, the Scottish actress is keeping herself quite busy. You can see her in the newest Netflix action flick, Gunpowder Milkshake. Starring alongside Gillan in the film are Lena Headey, Carla Gugino, Michelle Yeoh, Angela Bassett, and Chloe Coleman.

Gillan is also set to star in Judd Apatow's upcoming Netflix comedy The Bubble.

Are you eager to see Karen Gillan return as Nebula after Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3, or do you think she should retire the character?
