The gambling-addicted Hyakkou Private Academy is more outrageous than ever and it's time to find out if the fans are getting a new season on Netflix or not?
Kakegurui Twin isn’t one of those anime you can casually recommend to your friends if they are looking for a recommendation. It’s certainly not easy for every other person to immerse themselves in the chaotic world of high schoolers who are gambling addicts, and their social standing is determined by their wins at gambling sessions. With specks of psychological thriller thrown in the mix, Kakegurui Twin is on the same level as its successor, Kakegurui. This anime is adapted from a Japanese manga series written by Homura Kawamoto and illustrated by Kei Saiki. But is there a chance for this 6 episode long anime to get a second season on Netflix? Let’s find out.
There is no renewal announcement by MAPPA Studios or Netflix yet, and there is no certainty that this anime will be getting a second season or not. Regarding how this show got polarizing opinions from fans and critics, the chances of a second season happening anytime soon is slim.
We are back at Kakegurui's roots, where it's all about gambling, ridiculous scenarios, and girls you shouldn’t mess with. But this time, instead of Yumeko Jabami being the protagonist, the story focuses on Mary Saotome in Hyakkou, a year before Yumeko’s arrival. Mary is drawn to the lucrative gambling scenario in the school and quickly gains the attention of the student council members after securing her victory in gambling against another student. This anime essentially serves as the prequel to the original Kakegurui, which was released in 2017.
We saw a bunch of voice actors reprising their roles in Kakegurui Twin and hopefully, the cast of the second season won't switch out the voice actors. In that case, we'll see Minami Tanaka as the protagonist Mary Saotome, Miyuki Sawashiro as Ririka Momobami, Mariya Ise and Rina Honizumi will be voicing Midari Ikishima and
Tsuzura Hanatemari, respectively. This series is directed by Yuichiro Hayashi and Kaori Makita and produced by MAPPA Studios.
There is no information regarding the plot of a potential second season of Kakegurui Twin but in case we get to see its renewal, we can expect Mary to continue her ascend into school gambling. In the final episode, we also see the conflict between Mary and Sakura, with Mary securing her entry to Full-Bloom. A potential second season of this anime might take us on another crazy journey along with Mary Saotome as she climbs up the social hierarchy.
There is no official trailer for season 2 yet. Here is the trailer for the first season instead.
