The Johnny Depp - Amber Heard trial has entered its fourth week. During Monday's trial, Depp's bodyguard testified that Heard had punched the 58-year-old actor in his face. He also claimed that the Aquaman actress spat in Depp's face.

In a video deposition, Travis McGivern revealed that he witnessed altercations between the couple when they were married. He elaborated on the events that followed the incident in which Depp's finger was severed, back in 2015. McGivern is still employed by Depp and spoke to the court in Fairfax, Virginia from L.A.

McGivern explained the argument he witnessed that started off as a normal conversation that quickly turned heated. He recalled Heard throwing a Red Bull can at Depp during the incident. McGivern then had to intervene as the two of them continued to yell at each other. "Mr. Depp was giving as good as he got at that point," he noted. "He was angry and agitated." He managed to block a purse that was thrown by Heard at Depp at this point. He also said, as reported by PEOPLE, that she "tried to spit on" Depp amid the "verbal vitriol from both of them."

The fight continued as Depp caused disarray with Heard's closet and started throwing her stuff downstairs. Heard then came back home with her sister, Whitney. They were both "agitated" as McGivern noted thinking he had to remove Depp from the situation that was escalating. "Out of the corner of my eye, I saw a fist and an arm come across my right shoulder and I heard and saw a closed fist contact Mr. Depp on the left side of his face," he recalled. "That was Ms. Heard's fist."

Also recalling the actor's reaction, he added, "The initial look on his face kind of mirrored mine, kind of a look of shock. Like, 'What just happened? Where did that come from?' At that point, I wasn't gonna let Mr. Depp get hit anymore so I moved him down the last flight of stairs to the lower level and told him, 'We are leaving.' It wasn't up to him anymore. Just for his safety." Heard's attorney cross-questioned McGivern by asking him if Depp was getting physically violent as well. He was asked if Depp was reaching for Heard's hair while trying to hit her at the time as well as if Heard's punch was in response to Depp shoving her sister. McGivern denied both these statements.

This is not the first time a security guard of Depp's has noted the violent nature of their relationship. Depp’s private security guard Sean Bett had taken to the stand earlier in the trial and had shared several incidents and picture evidence about the nature of their relationship.  "I ended up getting him and we got out of there as quickly as possible," Bett said about the time he had witnessed Heard throw a bottle at Depp. “This can’t continue. You guys are either going to kill each other or you’re going to be in jail,” he had told Heard as he once removed her from a violent situation. He recalled how her eyes filled with tears and she said, “But I love him and I’m not going to lose him.”
