Lionsgate Reveals First Look At 'John Wick 4' And It Is Awesome

The picture shows Keanu Reeves' character John Wick kneeling in front of a bunch of candles in what seems to be a holy setting.

There aren’t many action heroes that become iconic. Apart from Bond and Jason Bourne, the other action hero that instantly comes to mind would be John Wick. And Keanu Reeves has played it to perfection, enough for people to hang onto every little news that trickles along. So, when the first look of John Wick 4 was recently released, people were super enthusiastic about what the next movie could bring, ScreenRant reported.

We can see Reeves’ John Wick kneeling in front of a bunch of candles and shrouded in some form of melancholy. The holy setting has many people intrigued by what could come next for the famed assassin. The image just confirms that there are exciting avenues for the characters that could be introduced. New cast members like Rina Sawayama, Donnie Yen, Shamier Anderson, Bill Skarsgård, Hiroyuki Sanada, Scott Adkins, and Clancy Brown will be making an appearance in the film, Variety mentions.

Recurring cast members include Keanu Reeves (of course), Laurence Fishburne as The Bowery King, Ian McShane as Winston, and Lance Reddick as Continental concierge Charon. Additionally, Chad Stahelski, a stuntman-turned-director will be back to helm the newest installment and he seems excited to bring something novel to this edition of the pencil-wielding assassin. “There’s been a couple days where I’ve decided to do number four and I’ve woken up in a cold sweat going, ‘Horses! How do I beat horses?’ I have no fu*king idea, to tell you the truth,” Stahelski told Collider

“I have a lot of really cool ideas for the next one that I think are different and shocking and fun and unique. How to do them, I have no fu*kin’ idea right now. I’m still figuring it out,” he added. Teaming up with Stahelski are writers Shay Hatten and Michael Finch. Sadly, franchise creator Derek Kolstad will not be penning the script for the first time in the series. Lionsgate has a lot riding on this film, considering they were supposed to shoot John Wick 4 and John Wick 5 back-to-back but were delayed due to COVID. Also, the long-awaited fourth installment of Matrix titled The Matrix Resurrections took up the lead actor's time. This film will be releasing four years after John Wick Chapter 3: Parabellum which came out in 2019.

At CinemaCon, Lionsgate released a small teaser video showing what is next for the character, and skull-bashing is confirmed, people! The footage also showed the titular character flinging around some nunchucks, so really, the sky is the limit here. Clearly, fans can expect many over-the-top action sequences that will embellish the movie.
