Is there anything Jennifer Lopez can't do? The actor, dancer, singer, producer, and entrepreneur will soon star in The Mother, a new Netflix movie in which she'll play an assassin. Disney's live-action Mulan director Niki Caro is in talks to direct the movie, reports Deadline. The film will follow a deadly female assassin who comes out of hiding to protect the daughter that she gave up years before, while on the run from dangerous men. This isn't the only project Lopez has in the works at Netflix as she's also starring in The Cipher, an adaptation of Isabella Maldonado's 2020 novel. The 51-year-old will play an FBI agent named Nina Guerrera. Guerrera is pulled into a case involving a serial killer who leaves complex codes and riddles online that are connected to the murders. And that's not all the Hustlers star is doing. It seems J.Lo is constantly working on a number of projects. While we watched her perform at the U.S. Presidential Inauguration of Joe Biden, she's also currently filming Shotgun Wedding which is an action-comedy. There's also a musical-driven romantic comedy Marry Me with Owen Wilson as well as STX’s crime drama The Godmother.
Lopez has also recently come out with her new skincare collection: JLo Beauty. "I had to wait until I felt really ready and knew exactly what I wanted it to stand for: beauty from the inside out, really prioritizing self-care and self-love," Lopez explained, according to PEOPLE. "Amidst all of the disappointment and confusion and fear of the last year, this was something positive that I could concentrate on. Something that people had been asking me about for years, and be able to finally share that was a real dream."
The actor and singer also reflected back on her career as she marked two decades since she made history as the first star to simultaneously have a No. 1 album and movie, with J.Lo and The Wedding Planner. "That's amazing, and to still be able to do what I love and still be performing, I really feel like I'm just beginning like there's so much ahead," she confessed. "It's such a great feeling and proves that just because you get to a certain age, doesn't mean that life is over. It's different than it was 20 years ago for me, but it's just as exciting and I'm doing stuff now that is just as good, if not even better." J.Lo is constantly proving age is just a number!
