Jennifer Lopez Officially Files For Divorce From Ben Affleck

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez have officially filed for divorce.

The actor from Hustlers filed court paperwork in Los Angeles County Superior Court on Tuesday, August 20. The documents were viewed by a number of news organizations, including the BBC.

TMZ claims that they were filed pro per, meaning that Lopez handled everything on her own without legal assistance.

Additionally, Lopez stated on Variety that they separated on April 26, 2024.

According to the BBC, the filed paperwork purport to be silent on the existence of a prenuptial agreement between the parties.

Accordingly, Affleck and Lopez’s earnings during their two years of marriage would be regarded as common property.

According to the paperwork, Lopez waived spousal support and is requesting that the judge refuse Affleck’s request as well.

After meeting in 2002 while working on the set of Gigli, the 2003 film in which they both appeared, Affleck and Lopez became one of Hollywood’s most popular couples in the 2000s.

The press christened them “Bennifer” right away, and they soon became engaged the same year. Nevertheless, the wedding was canceled in 2004, and they finally ended their romance.

The couple reignited their romance in 2021, and on July 16, 2022, they were married in a ceremony held in Las Vegas.

On August 20, 2022, they had a conventional wedding ceremony in Savannah, Georgia.

According to CNN, Lopez appears to have filed for divorce on the second anniversary of the wedding.

For a while now, the couple had been the focus of persistent divorce rumors, but nothing was proven until recently.

This marks Lopez’s fourth marriage – with her previous marriage being to singer Marc Anthony – and Affleck’s second.

He had three children from his first marriage to actress and Daredevil co-star Jennifer Garner.
