This will be the first of the new trilogy that has been planned with Timo Vuorensola directing.
Jeepers Creepers is being reborn after nearly five years. The horror movie series that gave us the terrifying demonic entity, The Creeper, is coming back to haunt us. The first film in the series was released nearly two decades ago, and there have been three films so far. The fourth installment is set to be a reboot and will be featuring the serial killer demon as well.
The Creeper is an ancient demonic creature who comes out once every 23 years to kill people and eat them for 23 days. He can easily be mistaken for a person, thanks to his humanoid features. The Creeper has been feeding on humans for centuries, and his saga continues in the next film as well. Here's what you need to know about the film.
The fourth installment of the film was announced in 2021. As per Variety, the film's logline reads:
The film unfolds as the Horror Hound festival holds its first ever event in Louisiana, where it attracts hundreds of geeks, freaks and die-hard horror fans from far and wide. Among them is fanboy Chase and his girlfriend Laine, who is forced to come along for the ride. But as the event approaches, Laine begins to experience unexplained premonitions and disturbing visions associated with the town’s past, and in particular, local legend/urban myth The Creeper. As the festival arrives and the blood-soaked entertainment builds to a frenzy, Laine believes that something unearthly has been summoned…and that she is at the center of it.
It has been confirmed so far that Sydney Craven (EastEnders) will be playing Laine, Imran Adams (Hollyoaks) will be playing Chase, Gabriel Freilich (Dark Shadows) will be playing Sam and Pete Brooke (Wonder Woman 1984) is set to play Stu. They will also be joined by Dee Wallace of E.T. fame, Gary Graham, Ocean Navarro, Matt Barkley, Alexander Halsall, Jodie McMullen, Georgia Goodman, Jarreau Benjamin, and Sophie Walker.
The film will be directed by Timo Vuorensola with a screenplay by Sean Michael Argo. "As excited as we are, we know that fans will be even more thrilled (and chilled) to return to the world of the Creeper, now with a much scarier vision from director Timo Vuorensola, who is the perfect fit to restart this franchise," Screen Media said in a statement. The series was originally created by Victor Salva, who also directed the first three films.
The film was supposed to be released in the fall of this year. But the reboot movie is now set to release in 2022. It will be the first of the new trilogy that has been planned.
