Idris Elba Says The Next James Bond Needs To Be Black Or Female.

In an interview with Variety, Elba said that the studios need to do something different with James Bond, either by casting a black male actor, a white female actress or a black female actress.

Idris Elba is currently the world's number one pick to play James Bond. It's something that has been talked about for years but the British actor has said on multiple occasions that he doesn't believe that the role is for him. However, he does believe that the character of James Bond needs a shake up.

How Idris Elba would look as James Bond

In an interview with Variety, Elba said that the studios need to do something different with James Bond, either by casting a black male actor, a white female actress or a black female actress.

It could be a woman. It could be a black woman. It could be a white woman. I think that character? Everybody would like to see them do something different with it.

Most people seem to be down for a black James Bond but a female James Bond may not be widely accepted. Given that James Bond has forever been known as a male it may be a bit of a shock for most. But he has also been known as a white man too so at this point anything seems possible for the character. The internet has even taken some time to cast the actress who will make the best Jamie Bond and it's none other than Charlize Theron. She definitely has the finesse to pull it off. What do you think?

Charlize Theron.

I completely agree that the next James Bond should be different. How different? Well, I can't really say. Just look at the female reboot of Ghostbusters. It seemed like a progressive idea at first but when it all came together it was complete trash.

I feel as though Hollywood needs to consider making new characters as opposed to completely redoing old iconic ones and potentially ruining entire franchises.

All this aside, Daniel Craig is currently killing it as James Bond and is expected to reprise his role in the upcoming Bond 25, which is set to hit theaters on November 8th, 2019.
