Everyone wants to use their powers for different things, some may want to kill all the criminals, and others might just want to eat all the donuts and not get fat. Inuyashiki is one such sci-fi anime that deals with this topic, which is why it makes the anime very interesting. The anime series has a fantastic storyline and graphics that make the show worth watching, and undoubtedly, fans are waiting for the second installment now. Let's see whether there is a chance that Inuyashiki will get a second season or not.
The original manga of the same name has ten volumes and consists of seventy-three chapters until now. It was on May 23, 2017, the ninth volume was issued in Japan and later went on sale in the United States on October 17, 2017. The first season received an extremely positive response, and even the critics loved the show. The show did manage to get a live-action film that premiered in July 2018.
However, as of now, the show has yet to get an official renewal.
Going with all the facts and guesses, it looks like two possible cases could happen, with one being bad and the other being good. The bad scenario is that the first season along with the anime film will cover all the volumes of the manga, which means that it will conclude right after one season. On the other hand, the positive case could be that these television and film adaptations will include parts of the original manga series. If that happens, then we might get to see the second installment happening.
We want to stay positive for the second season of Inuyashiki, even if we do not have any official confirmation from the creators. One thing is for sure that we won't be seeing it happening this year. We want to stay positive because we know that there are enough content and sources for the production of season 2. If the creator plans to make another sequel at all, we won't see it anytime soon and hope for it to come sometime in 2024.
The story is about Inuyashiki Ichiro, who is a 58-year-old businessman and also a loner. Due to his stressful job and life, he looks much older. Ichiro has no friends and hasn't got any proper care from the side of his family. His tragedy didn't stop there, as he was soon diagnosed with cancer. But, one day, he finds himself in the right place. He attained superhuman powers while there was a sudden explosion in a public park. He looks like an ordinary old man all because of the extraterrestrial intervention, as his body becomes a mechanism. He soon realizes the value of the superpower he has achieved. He then wants to spend his power wisely, and therefore, he decides to dedicate his life to fighting crime and helping people who are in need of help or are suffering. While Ichiro attained a superpower in that explosion, there was someone else who found himself at the epicenter of the explosion. That person's name was Shishigami Hiro, and he was the one who wanted to use the power for everything wrong and negative. He becomes a sociopath and devotes his life to committing crimes like murder and violence. He soon becomes the most talked-about criminal of the city and the most wanted criminals in the country. There was no way the police could have caught him as he owned superhuman powers. Therefore, the only one who was capable of handling him was Inuyashiki Ichiro. The story is a beautiful and interesting depiction of two opposite characters, with one being the destroyer and the other being the savior and creator.
