The renewal will be handled by the same studio, once again and Ryo Ando will be returning for the directing. Funimation has licensed the second season and the American audience will also be able to watch it on popular streaming sites such as Crunchyroll. All we will have to do is wait for the official date to come out. We can expect the studio to let out the confirmed dates sometimes by the end of 2019 and can hope to see the second installment in the second half of the year 2020.
It is a story about Tetsuo Takahashi who is an average looking high school teacher of biology. She has a thing for demi-humans who are also known as 'Demi' or 'Ajin' and wants to learn more about them. Even though they have integrated and become a part of human society, Takeshi believed that there are so much more about Demis that is unknown to humans. Therefore, Takeshi wants to interact with them first hand and know everything about them. The show follows the daily experiences and life of Tetsuo Takahashi's as a teacher at Shibasaki High School along with three Demi students. Kyouko Machi a calm and collected dullahan, Hikari Takahashi, the hyperactive vampire, and Yui Kusakabe, a timid woman.
Takahashi, while on the way, meets his peer, who is a fellow teacher, Sakie Satou, a succubus who loathes men. To fulfill his dream of attaining more knowledge on Demis, he decides to interview Demis to learn more about them and their skills and abilities, and how their minds work when they interact with regular humans. Eventually, after spending much time knowing Demis, Takahashi realizes that they are not as unusual as he thought them to be.
