The first season of this show consisted of 13 episodes that premiered on December 25, 2012, and continued till March 19, 2013. At the same time, Studio Trigger released a side story that was called Inferno Cop: Fact Files, which aired on screens on December 28, 2012. and was 12 episodes. This was the show that glorified and shed light on important characters from each episode. Fans desperately wanted to see another season and repeatedly demanded the second installment, which forced Trigger to make the announcement at the New Jersey AnimeNEXT on June 9, 2017. It is believed that season 2 of Inferno Cop will also be an ONA. No matter the announcement took place in mid-2017, it hasn't arrived as yet. However, one thing we know for sure is that if Trigger officially made announcements about season 2, then there must be more to it. Even though the reason behind the delay is not known, we still cannot lose hope for the second season to come, as the studio knows that fans have been waiting for it ever since they made it official. What can make the delay even worst is the fact that Junichi Goto, Inferno Cop's voice actor, passed away in February 2020.

At Anime Expo, the Studio Trigger team celebrated their anniversary and provided fans with insights into the much-anticipated season two of the series, Inferno Cop. Producer Hiromi Wakabayashi candidly addressed the development challenges that have beset the project for an extended period but emphasized the studio's commitment to bringing Inferno Cop back to life for its dedicated fanbase. Despite facing setbacks, Studio Trigger remains eager to embark on this exciting journey once more with the right creative talents and cast.

What Is The Storyline Of 'Inferuno Koppu'?

Let's just say that the visual, style, theme, and the way it shows the protagonist, Inferno Cop, to a slight extent, resembles Marvel Comics' Ghost Rider character. The show is set in the fictional Jack Knife Edge Town. It shows the titular protagonist, Inferno Cop, and his adventurous journey as a supernatural law enforcement officer meting out justice in a fiery streak of vengeance. The show starts after InfernoCop's entire family is brutally murdered by the Southern Cross. This Illuminati-like secret organization controls the world by using the countless thugs and scary monsters under its control. After this tragedy, Inferno Cop unleashes his wrath on the lawbreakers in his town by either blowing criminals up or shooting and killing them. However, Inferno Cop's adventures are very different from what one would consider normal in the world of law enforcement. The show becomes even more interesting after Inferno Cop takes up bizarre assignments that include fending off a zombie apocalypse traveling through time, fighting the sinister newborn baby, and killing a mummy. The show is exciting and keeps viewers engrossed until the end. It is indeed disappointing not to be able to see the next season yet to know more about his adventure.
