The Netflix Original comedy-sketch series is coming back for more.
Netflix did the right thing when they decided to invest in 'I Think You Should Leave With Tim Robinson'.
The Netflix Original comedy-sketch series created by Tim Robinson and Zach Kanin, and co-directed by Akiva Schaffer was a huge success. It's been named the funniest show numerous times and appears on different lists of 2019's Best Shows.
Let's find out what's in store for the comedy-sketch series.
Great news! Yes, Netflix has renewed the comedy-sketch series for season 2. If you're an avid fan of the series, you might have known about the great news already. News of the renewal came in June 2019.
This may not come as a surprise to fans since the show received a 96% critic rating and 71% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.
Getting renewed for season 2 is such a massive accomplishment for the team, considering sketch-comedies are often a hit and miss thing on Netflix.
"We are very excited to be working with The Lonely Island, Irony Point, and Netflix to make another season of 'I Think You Should Leave.' We are so thankful we get to do it again," said the show's co-creator Zach Kanin via Variety.
Netflix has not announced an official release date yet, but season 2 is expected to arrive on the streaming platform this year.
Season 1 premiered on Netflix on April 23, 2019, and naturally, people assumed season 2 would premiere around the same time.
This didn't happen, but fans shouldn't worry either since the show's actor Sam Richardson recently shed light on season 2's production status.
"It's about to go into production right now. I think it's actually just started production. I just got back into town. So yeah, I will be returning for season two," he says via Den Of Geek in March 2020.
The first season aired with six episodes containing around 15-17 minutes of hilarious sketches about life's most bizarre and mundane situations.
The first season was a huge hit, and we're expecting season 2 to be just as entertaining, if not more.
"Tim sent some scripts, and I got to look over them and just give my two cents on them, and they're all so funny. Tim and Zach, they write so well together, and it's just, it's the funniest stuff you can see," Richardson says via the same interview.
Season 2 trailer is still not available, and it might take a while before we can lay our eyes on it. For now, enjoy season 1's trailer.
