The Hype House which was a TikTok creator collective that included some of the biggest influencers on the video platform landed its own reality show on Netflix last year. The docuseries that goes by the same name as the collective, premiered on January 7, 2022. It follows the creators including Lil Huddy, Nikita Dragun, Thomas Petrou, Larray, Mia Hayward, Alex Warren, Jack Wright, Kouvr Annon, and Vinnie Hacker. These TikTokers with over 130 million followers collectively live together in a $5 million home in Moorpark, California. The point of living together was for the influencers and content creators to be able to make videos together easily.
Fans of the creators would be delighted to see the goings-on in the house but most people did not seem to care much for the show which is predominantly White, privileged teens. The first season had eight episodes and lots of drama on and off-screen, showing how these overnight sensations handle fame. While the first season was not that well-received by critics, there is no saying what’s in store for the show’s future. Here’s what we know about the future of Hype House.
Will There Be A Second Season Of Hype House?
It has been three years since the first season of the show was released. There has been no official announcement from Netflix about the show’s renewal. Since Netflix gives more importance to viewership than critics’ opinions about a show, and these creators have a lot of popularity and eyes on them currently, chances are, the reality show could be coming back for another season. Stars Alex Warren and Jack Wright did an interview with j-14 where they were asked about the possibility of season 2. Alex said: “I genuinely love the Netflix series because it gives an element to people that, ‘Hey, you know, we’re not fake,’” and in regards to filming season 2 he said that he’s “always down to do stuff.”
He added: “I think it just comes down to if it aligns with the timing and everything, just with music and podcasts and hopefully, if they were to do a season 2, I would probably say yes. It would just align with what I’m doing.”
Jack added that they haven’t heard anything from Netflix yet saying: “I’m definitely open to anything. I haven’t heard anything yet.”
Who Will Be In Hype House Season 2?
The original cast of the show included Hype House members Hacker, Petrou, Warren, Hayward, Annon, Wright, Sanzone, Huston, Storms, and Sienna Mae Gomez. Petrou stated, “My whole goal with this house in the first place was: Why can’t people who hit millions of other people be as famous as A-list celebrities?” Other popular creators including Charli and Dixie D’Amelio, Addison Rae, are also members of the house but they do not reside at the house.
When Will Hype House Season 2 Be Released?
Since it is unclear whether the show is being renewed for another season or not it is hard to say when the release date could be. With the first season, the announcement about the show came in April 2021 and the show was released in January of 2022. Considering this, if the renewal announcement comes in the following months, we can expect to see the show in 2025.
