This franchise has had a solid fanbase ever since the inception of the manga in 1998. We are talking about none other than Yoshihiro Togashi’s manga Hunter X Hunter. The manga was first adapted into a series back in 1999 and ran for four seasons before ending. The show was rebooted in 2011 by Madhouse and became largely popular once again. The story centers around a character named Gon Freecss and his ongoing efforts to become a hunter. The series is now 140 and 6 seasons old, and fans have been longing to know if the show is returning for a seventh season. Here's everything we know...
We have no information on when the next season of Hunter X Hunter will release. But thankfully, we do have a confirmation that more episodes are already in production. The creator has also teased and hinted toward the show's future back in May 2022. We don't think we will see the show before 2024.
Well, the plot will explore the dark continent in the coming season. Here's the official synopsis for the next season, "Beyond Netero leads a journey into the Dark Continent, a place from which travelers rarely return. Gon’s father Ging joins the crew, seeing it as a good way to further his own quest for more existential knowledge. Gon, Killua, and Alluka part ways, and they promise to reunite somewhere down the lane, so we can hope that happens in the coming season. However, the dark continent in the manga doesn't really include them, so we don't know how things might proceed. Only time will tell! Also, it's very likely that creator Yoshihiro Togashi won't be illustrating more manga in this franchise so the source material will remain limited, and the studio will have to borrow from their own imagination if they want to continue the anime beyond season 7.
