Anyone who hasn’t seen Hospital Playlist yet should. It’s about five doctors who have been friends since medical school. At Yulje Medical Center, where the show takes place, the group deals with their personal and work lives.
Jo Jung Suk plays Lee Ik Jun, a friendly and charming general surgeon; Jeon Mi Do plays Chae Song Hwa, a scary neurosurgeon; Jung Kyung Ho plays Kim Jun Wan, a smart but reserved thoracic surgeon; Yoo Yeon Seok plays Yang Seok Hyeong, Ahn Jeong Won’s best friend and a pediatric specialist; and Kim Dae Myung plays Yang Seok Hyeong.
Will Hospital Playlist Return With Season 3?
There isn’t any official word on Hospital Season 3 yet, but fans are still hopeful because the director is open about it and the group is excited about it. It’s possible that the Yulje Medical crew will be back in action in the future if people keep liking Resident Playbook and asking for a new season.
While thinking about the idea of Resident Playbook coming back for a second season, director Shin Won also talked about Hospital Playlist season 3. He said, “I gave a similar answer about ‘Hospital Playlist.’ It really all depends on the viewers. If we receive enough feedback, whether through numbers or overall response, we’ll consider it.” He also added, “I’m still feeling the pressure about ‘Hospital Playlist’ Season 3. Both the actors and the viewers are constantly pressing me. If we do end up making it, it’ll probably be because of that stress.”
A new spin-off of Resident Playbook
Fans are already enjoying the new show Resident Playbook while they wait for news about Season 3. The show is about a group of OB-GYN residents who are just starting out in their jobs. It first aired on April 12. People are already really into it, especially after a cute surprise appearance in the April 13 episode. Fans were thrilled when Ahn Eun Jin and Kim Dae Myung came back as their married Hospital Playlist characters. People felt nostalgic when they saw this cameo, and calls for the original group to come back were heard again.
Hospital Playlist’s first season aired on tvN from March 12, 2020, to May 28, 2020. The second season aired on tvN from June 17, 2021, to September 16, 2021. You can watch both parts right now on Netflix.
