As we near Christmas Eve, we cannot help but think about gathering all the quaint little family entertainers to enjoy over a chilly afternoon. And Christmas is kind of incomplete without some old-school Christmas movies. One such film emerged decades ago in 1990 and captured the hearts of millions worldwide. Home Alone gave us the little mischievous but precocious Kevin McCallister, who successfully fends off two thugs who try to rob his house while his parents and the rest of the family are out vacationing without him. Home Alone spawned into a faulty franchise as the rest of the movies that followed the original with the same concept didn’t fare well at the box office. But we still harbor the same love for the 1990s Home Alone, which makes us wonder at times, where is the cast of this movie now? Let’s find out ahead.
Home Alone was the breakout movie of Macaulay Culkin, and to date, it remains the most celebrated film of his entire career. Culkin continued his journey in Hollywood after the success of Home Alone, but it wasn’t a smooth ride for him as he fell victim to substance abuse and his stardom quickly faded away. But he has made a dramatic return to showbiz in the past few years after getting engaged to Disney star Brenda Song and welcoming a child with her. 42-year-old Culkin was last seen in the TV Series The Righteous Gemstones and American Horror Story.
Pesci played one of the thugs in the movie, and he went on to have a flourishing acting career with multiple roles as an antagonist in some notable films made by Martin Scorsese. The 79-year-old actor announced his retirement from acting in 1999 but returned to the screen to make several cameo appearances. He also bagged an Oscar for his supporting role in Goodfellas. He was last seen in 2019’s The Irishman.
The second thug invading the family’s home in the movie was played by Stern. He went on to have a successful career in the industry and also pursued his hobby of sculpting and turned it into a career as well. He played the role of Bill in a TV series called Shrill, which wrapped up in 2021, and will be next seen as a writer, director, and actor in the comedy project Everything’s Peachy.
O'Hara was the concerned mother of the protagonist in the movie, and she was already considered a prolific actress in the industry when they started filming for Home Alone. She bagged two Primetime Emmy Awards in her career so far and will be next seen alongside Henry Cavill in Argylle and Emily Blunt in Pain Hustlers. Catherine O'Hara is now 68.
45-year-old Ratray, who played the troublesome older brother of Kevin, has continued working in both television and films, and he was last spotted in Kimi, which was released in 2022 and starred Zoe Kravitz. He is also credited for roles in famous shows such as Law & Order and Better Call Saul.
Macaulay's real-life younger brother played his character's cousin in the film. Just like his older brother, 40-year-old Kieran continued pursuing his acting career but not before taking a brief time out from the industry in the early 2000s. But ever since then, he has earned himself Golden Globes and Emmy nominations for starring in the hit series Succession since 2018.
Kevin's uncle Frank has continued his stint both on stage and television and has taken up several supporting roles so far. The American actor is 81 years old now, and he was last seen in 2015 The Following alongside Kevin Bacon.
Now 77 years old, Fricker was the Irish actress behind the mysterious pigeon lady in the second film of Home Alone. The Oscar-winning actress continues her career in Hollywood and will be next seen in a television mini-series called The Catch.
Kevin’s older sister Linnie might not have a huge screen time in the film but she is still fondly remembered by the fans. She appeared in several stage plays along with supporting roles in movies and TV shows since then. 45-year-old Goethals was last spotted playing the lead role in PTA-Holes.
Maronna played the older brother of Kevin in the film. The 45-year-old actor has not only pursued a career in front of the camera but has done plenty of electrical work behind the scenes as well. He starred in Gilmore Girls, Law & Order, and most famously in the Nickelodeon TV show, The Adventures of Pete & Pete. He is currently working behind the camera for two upcoming projects called Your Place or Mine and Pennhurst.
