The High Score Girl manga ended in 2018, and the anime has already used up all of the source material. We probably won’t get a third season. But there’s more to come.
Rensuke Oshikiri, a mangaka, started a spin-off series named “High Score Girl DASH!” in 2019. This manga takes place years in the future (2007), and follows the the life of Koharu Hidaka as a thirty year old teacher. The manga’s tale is just getting started, so it’s hard to say where it will go from here.
Koharu’s employment as a teacher and the fact that she is single are two big parts of the story. It has a significantly different tone from the first “High Score Girl” because it deals with issues of loneliness and not moving on.
The manga hasn’t said anything about Haruo and Ono either. The last time we really see them is at the end of “The High Score Girl” manga. We might see an anime version of the “DASH” plot one day, but it won’t happen for a long time.
