Here Are Some New Christmas Films And TV Shows Coming To Netflix This Holiday Season

In preparation for the holiday season, Netflix is set to release a ton of Christmas-themed movies and TV shows starting as early as November.

We are in the last stretch of the year 2021. Before we knew it, we are already in spook season, soon it will be Thanksgiving, and in the blink of an eye, we'll be celebrating Christmas. Netflix has a great collection of thrillers and spooky movies out, right in time for Halloween. In preparation for the holiday season, Netflix is set to release a ton of Christmas-themed movies and TV shows starting as early as November.

Here are a few Netflix releases you can look forward to:

1. The Claus Family

The Claus Family is about when his grandfather suddenly falls ill and holiday-hating Jules learns of his family's magical legacy. Jules soon realizes he's the only hope to save Christmas. The movie is set to premiere on November 1. This Dutch film was initially released last year but is being released globally this year.



 

2. A Boy Called Christmas

This is a British fantasy film based on the 2015 book of the same name by Matt Haig. It is a reimagining of the story of Father Christmas. Nikolas sets out on an extraordinary adventure, with his loyal pet mouse and reindeer, to find his father who is on a quest to discover the fabled village of Elfhelm. It is set to release on November 24 and is starring Henry Lawfull, Toby Jones, Sally Hawkins, and Maggie Smith.



 

3. Father Christmas Is Back

This British comedy film follows four sisters who have reunited for the Christmas Holiday in a Yorkshire mansion. Soon, the long-buried secret that tore their family apart comes to light, ruining any semblance of a perfect Christmas celebration. It is set to release on November 7.



 

4. Grumpy Christmas

Grumpy Christmas is a sequel to the 2016 Mexican comedy film Un Padre No Tan Padre or The Patriarch. In the follow-up film, Don Servando and his "extended hippie family" travel to the beach to spend Christmas with Alma's aunt, Doña Alicia. Don will stop at nothing to prove that Alicia is a horrible person who only looks out for herself, even if it means ruining Christmas for everyone. The film is set to release on December 22.

5. The Princess Switch 3:  Romancing the Star

The third installment of the romantic comedy centered around Christmas is all set to release on Netflix. In the third part of the film, When a priceless Christmas relic is stolen, royal look-alikes, Queen Margaret and Princess Stacy turn to their audacious doppelgänger cousin, Fiona — and her dashing ex — for help. The film is set to release on November 18.



 

6. Elves

This Danish original series is an unlikely Christmas story that is far from a feel-good watch. It follows a family who decides to go on holiday to a remote island for Christmas. Two siblings discover elves there but they are not Santa's little helpers. These are bloodthirsty elves who keep the locals in fear. The film is set to release on November 28.

7. Christmas Flow

This is a series that is about an unlikely Christmas romance that blossoms between a famous rapper and a tenacious journalist. But the matter remains if the two can make it work despite their differences. It is set to release on November 17.



 

8. A Castle for Christmas

Another Christmas romantic comedy film that follows a famed American author, Sophie, who travels to Scotland to escape a scandal. There, she finds herself wanting to buy a castle, but the prickly owner, a Scottish Duke named Myles, is reluctant to sell to a foreigner. The two have a face-off. It is set to release on November 26 and stars Brooke Shields and Cary Elwes.



 

9. A California Christmas: City Lights

This is the sequel to the 2020 Christmas film A California Christmas. In the follow-up film, it has been a year since Callie and Joseph fell in love. They're happier than ever running their dairy farm and winery until business and family obligations call him back to the city, threatening to wreak havoc on their romance. The movie will be releasing on December 16.

10. How to Ruin Christmas (Season 2)

In the second season of the South African show, Tumi Sello is looking forward to a quiet Christmas but her plans get ruined and she will have to spend another Christmas trying to clear her name as well as her family's. All that is known for now is that the show will be back in December.
