The first season of the anime series received a positive response from the audience and on MyAnimeList, the anime scored 7.39/10 ~ 31,500 votes.
It's been so long since we have heard anything new about the renewal of mecha anime 'Heavy Object', and fans are desperate to know what J.C. Staff thinks about giving the anime series a second season? Looking at every news we have to use, it appears that the studio is very busy developing new projects without paying attention to the older ones. The long silence constantly hints us about the cancellation of the franchise, but we just cannot say it for sure, can we? Let's look at every facet we gathered to find out whether or not we will be getting a second season of 'Heavy Object'.
We all know that the to decide whether or not the show will get a renewal, producers depend on two major factors—the success of the anime, and the second-factor being, are there enough material and source for the making of a new season altogether? Now, let's break each one of the factors down to find out the possible reason for the delay. The first season of the anime series received a positive response from the audience and on MyAnimeList, the anime scored 7.39/10 ~ 31,500 votes. Not just that, the viewers of FUNimation and Hulu have rated 'Heavy Object' at 4.5 out of 5 stars. Now let's look at the second major factor, which is the availability of enough source material. The important factor is the fact that the first season of 'Heavy Object' consisted of two parts of twelve episodes each.
The twenty-four episodes apparently covered the core of the original light novel series, and it is still ongoing. However, fans will have to wait for a long time before Kazuma Kamachi launches more source material to produce another brand new season that will constitute of twenty-four episodes. Having said that, we will have to accept the harsh truth that we will not be seeing season two happening anytime soon, even though the chances are there for the renewal exists. The show premiered for the first time in October 2015 on Tokyo MX, and soon BS11, AT-X, and other Japanese networks started airing the anime on their channel. J.C. Staff along with SANZIGEN served as developers of the television adaptation. The first season was licensed by Funimation for the franchise in North America and the first installment ended on March 25, 2016.
The story is set in the future where a massive, spherically shaped war machines named Objects appeared as a result of rigorous developed technical progress. It is because of these new types of invention and weaponry, the war saw an entirely new face since nuclear weapons turned useless in comparison with the Objects. After some days passed, the world split into four coalitions which exist in the permanent confrontation. The fact that only Objects can destroy Objects, the modern war showed a collision between such war machines. Soon the warfare became safer. The primary storyline focuses on Qwenthur who is a young military cadet engineer, and as well as his fellow, Havia, an offspring of the powerful family. Eventually, they both find out that man could destroy human-made Objects. The discovery might change the course of history, and the anime follows the duo's gripping adventures.
