The Princess Diaries star Heather Matarazzo dispelled a rumor that has been making the rounds recently.

Heather took to TikTok earlier this week to shoot down the latest fan theory the internet has come up with: that Gaten Matarazzo, who plays Dustin Henderson on Stranger Things, is actually her real-life son, reported PEOPLE.

"I just wanted to clarify something because I've been getting a number of messages regarding this," she said. "I absolutely adore Gaten Matarazzo, I think he is brilliant, I think he is wonderful; but I cannot claim him as my son. Because he is not."

It was not entirely wrong of fans to assume that, because we see where the confusion might have begun. Gaten's mom is also coincidentally named Heather Matarazzo, so the assumption is not all that far-fetched.

"Gaten, if you would like to help confirm this, that would be greatly appreciated. I also wonder how inundated you're getting with messages as well. So yes, love Gaten Matarazzo but not my kid. I have no kids–they're all fur babies, I have four-legged babies," Heather added.

Her video was stitched with another one posted by a user asking, "Why is no one talking about this," as he Googled the two stars. Responding to this, the actress simply shook her head no. "I adore #gatenmatarazzo but he is NOT my son," Heather wrote in the caption for the clip.

Gaten is currently busy starring in Dear Evan Hansen, reportedly his first performance in the Tony-winning best musical. This marks his comeback to the stage after his last appearance as Gavroche in the Les Misérables revival in 2014.

"Words could never express how truly honored I am to be a part of this company," he said, in a statement referring to the musical, earlier this year, per Deadline. "This show has taught me so much about myself and to be able to participate in any capacity, let alone on Broadway, makes me want to melt. I am ecstatic to be back on stage and eternally grateful for the opportunity."
