‘Hawkeye’ Series Season 2: Everything We Know So Far

Hawkeye may not have the same type of fanbase as the other Marvel superheroes but he does have his own TV show. The Hawkeye mini-series is the fifth television series in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The series picks off after the events of the film Avengers: Endgame (2019) and is in continuation with the films of the franchise.

The series first premiered in 2021 as part of Phase Four of the MCU. The first season had six episodes with Jeremy Renner reprising his role as Clint Barton from the films as well as Hailee Steinfeld joining him as Kate Bishop, both as Hawkeye. The show was well-received and really helped put the underrated Hawkeye in the spotlight.

Fans would love to see the amazing onscreen chemistry between the characters more and are hoping for there to be more of Hawkeye. Here’s what the future of the Hawkeye series holds:

Will There Be Season 2 Of Hawkeye?

The series had been in the works since 2019. It was slated to be a limited series after Disney decided to bring about a few changes to be able to put up some of their shows in contention for the Emmys. This would mean that the show would not be getting a second season, something that greatly disappointed the fans. The series tells the story of Clint Barton who partners with Kate Bishop to confront enemies from his past as the Ronin, in order to get back to his family in time for Christmas.

“It’s exciting to hear fans clamoring for a Season 2. We can’t say anything,” directing duo Bert and Bertie had stated. “I think that’s when you know you’re doing something right and that people are really satisfied. They’ve been around for this rollercoaster and they want more. More Kate, more Yelena, more everything. It’s the Marvel Cinematic Universe, so these stories continue, right?”

We may not be seeing Hawkeye in a series but the character will definitely show up in a future Marvel film.

Hawkeye spin-off

While we may not be getting Hawkeye Season 2, we got a spin-off of the series that might as well serve as the second season. A new Disney+ series based on Echo was recently released. The series is named after the superhero and follows the events of Hawkeye in New York City. Maya Lopez aka Echo (Alaqua Cox) returns to her hometown, where she must come to terms with her past, reconnect with her Native American roots, and embrace her family and community. Echo was released on January 9, 2024.
