‘Hanna’ Season 4: Everything We Know So Far

Hanna is an action drama series that was released on Amazon Prime Video. It was based on the 2011 film of the same name starring Saoirse Ronan as the title character. It is the story of a girl raised in the wilderness of northern Finland by her father, an ex-CIA operative, who trains her as an assassin. In the series, Esme Creed-Miles plays Hanna.

The first season of the show premiered in 2019. The first episode was released on February 3 as a time-limited preview. The first season in its entirety was released on March 29 on Amazon Prime. The second season premiered on July 3, 2020, and was also renewed for another season at the same time. The third season premiered on November 24, 2021.

Here’s what to expect from the future of the show:

Will There Be Season 4 Of Hanna?

The screenplay writer of Hanna the movie, David Farr, created the TV series. “I’m absolutely thrilled to be able to give Hanna a third season,” he had stated when it was renewed. “When we set out on this journey, I had in my mind a drama that would excavate Hanna’s past, challenge her in entirely new ways and answer the question: Can she ever belong? I am truly grateful to Amazon and NBCU that we are able to continue that vision. I am also deeply indebted to Esmé Creed-Miles and to Mireille Enos for their continuing commitment and enormous talent as we take Hanna and Marissa into new and unexplored terrain. It’s going to be an exciting third act.”

The third season had six episodes and ended on an explosive note. This left fans of the show hoping for another season. But when the third season premiered, Farr tweeted: “Enjoy the final Act, everyone…” It was also confirmed that the third season would be the final season.

Why Will There Not Be Another Season Of The Show?

The show does have a perfect ending in a way that would leave viewers satisfied. It also leaves the potential for starting off a new chapter in Hanna’s life. Farr, however, said that season 3 is the end because there is “no more story.” He told Screen Rant that while the characters could continue, the main tale he wanted to tell was about Hanna growing up and reaching a form of adulthood. This is something she does manage to do in the third season as she faces her past and manages to free herself from it. She opens up the option for herself to live her life the way she wants to at the end of the show.

Moreover, Farr had always planned a 3-act structure to Hanna’s story. The third season is the ending he always intended. He did say that another season could possibly happen if he decides there is a new story to tell about Hanna. But the self-contained story of the child assassin was brought to a picture-perfect ending.
