Gerard Butler's new disaster film looks absolutely bonkers!
STX Entertainment has just dropped the new trailer for the Armageddon type film "Greenland." It's the latest film starring Gerard Butler, and with 2020 already seeing so many disasters, "Greenland" is fuel to the fire of what could be.
Gerard Butler seems to be Hollywood's go-to man for disaster films. In "Greenland," we see Butler's character trying to save his family from meteor fragments falling from the sky.
It looks big, it looks epic, and most of all, it looks possible! After the rough ride we've had in 2020, I wouldn't be surprised if "Greenland" is a look into the near future, the same way that "Contagion" was.
Check out the trailer below.
The trailer starts very cute and innocent. The family is over the moon to see a comet named Clarke streak past Earth. Things take a deadly turn, however, when massive fragments make its way into our atmosphere and hurled at cities.
With the world in danger of a mass extinction event, Butler's character is in a race against the clock to escape to a rumored refuge in the country of Greenland with his family. Would he make it with his entire family intact? We'll just have to wait and see,
At the moment, the film is set to hit theaters on August 14, 2020, but with the way 2020 has shaped up, this can easily change.
Ric Roman Waugh, the director of "Angel Has Fallen," teams up with Gerard Butler again for this one. Other members of the cast include Morena Baccarin, Scott Glenn, Andrew Bachelor, and David Denman.
