What Is The Plot Of ‘Granblue Fantasy’?

The anime is set in a fantasy world inhabited by five races: the humans, the Draph, the Erune, and the unknown. This world consists of islands drifting in the sky. Kingdoms are either fighting for power or preserving peace while keeping their sovereignty. The series follows a young boy named Gran, who owns a talking, winged lizard named Vyrn. One day, he and his pet saw a hostile Erste Empire ship in the sky. Gran saw a girl named Lyria and an Imperial Officer named Katalina. The two are trying to flee from the Empire, which seeks to take over the world using its advanced military technology. Gran manages to rescue the two of them but fatally hurts himself in the process. Before Gran dies, Lyria saves him by fusing her soul with him. Lyria then summons a giant and powerful creature called the Proto-Bahamut, which dispels the Empire forces. Lyria, Gran, and Vrym, and Katalina team up and head to an island called Estalucia to escape the Empire and find clues about Gran’s mysterious father. The anime follows their epic adventures as they make new allies and get drawn into a much bigger sinister plot.
