Veronica's bound to face a villain even more cruel than Brandão.
Good Morning Veronica is a Brazillian action series which released on Netflix last month.
Directed by José Henrique Fonseca, the series received praises for tackling relevant subject matters, including violence against women.
It follows a female police clerk who is tasked to investigate two cases, both involving abused women.
After successfully launching eight 40-minutes episodes in season 1, let us find out what is next for the series.
It has been more than a month since Good Morning Veronica premiered on Netflix, and we are pleased to tell you that Netflix has officially renewed the series!
The announcement came a month after season 1 premiered.
Netflix Brasil shared a teaser clip on its Youtube channel with the official season 2 announcement:
"Bom dia, Verônica | Segunda Temporada Confirmada | Netflix (Good Morning, Veronica Second Season Confirmed | Netflix)."

Netflix is yet to announce the official release date for season 2, but we could take a good guess based on the season 1 timeline.
Season 1 premiered on Netflix on October 1, 2020, with eight episodes, which run around 40 minutes each. If the team manages to start filming right ahead, then we believe they will still be on track for a season 2 release in the same month next year. Albeit, we know that the Coronavirus pandemic is still practically wreaking havoc in different parts of the world. Hence, delays are still possible.
We will keep you posted on the latest updates.
Good Morning Veronica is based on the novel Bom Dia, Verônica written by Raphael Montes and Ilana Casoy under the pseudonym Andrea Killmore.
Season 1 introduced us to Veronica, a female police clerk undervalued for being a woman in a profession dominated by men. One seemingly uneventful day in the sloppiest police station in Sao Paulo, Veronica witnesses a suicide that will eventually change her life.
A grieving father of a rape victim sits in Chief Wilson Carvala's office. An upset Marta Campos is also there, but the chief police just dismiss her.
When the officers drag in the rapist, the mourning father suddenly took out a gun. The detectives managed to knock the gun out of his hands. A crying Marta picks the gun up, and before anyone could do anything, Marta shoots herself in the end.
Someone filmed the suicide incident and uploaded the video on the internet. Unhappy with the bad reputation they are getting, Carvala reluctantly agrees to let Veronica look into Marta’s situation.
Albeit, season 1 ended in a very different light for Veronica. We witness her transformation from a straight cop to a full-on killer whose intent to bring justice to her hands.
Season 2 plot details remain scarce, but we are expecting to see Veronica embark on more dangerous quests. Now that everybody thinks she is dead, the shadows will be her new ally. Bigger fights are now on her way.
“As the creator of the series, I hope that Veronica’s story will reach more and more people. And I can say that, in the 2nd season, Verô will face a villain even more cruel than Brandão, ” Author Raphael Montes said via Somag.
The official cast list remains unknown as of this writing.
One thing is for sure though, we shall see Tainá Müller return for the titular role, Verônica Torres (Verô).
We are also expecting to see a couple of new faces for the new season, noting how many deaths occurred on season 1.
While waiting for further season 2 details, let's take a look at season 1's official trailer. If our calculations about the show's release date are right, we will see the season 2 trailer around September. Netflix often drops trailers a month leading to its release.
The action-packed series is available for streaming on Netflix.
