'Golden Time' was a romantic anime series produced by JC Staff Studio. Although people usually detest romantic animes due to its usual cliche plotlines, 'Golden Time' managed to draw a heap of fans for its heartwarming content.
'Golden Time' follows the story of a boy suffering from retrograde amnesia and how his condition affected a budding relationship he found while in law school.

'Golden Time' was released on October 4, 2013, and concluded on March 28, 2014, after 24 episodes. After the first season ended, there were no other OVA, spin-offs, or side stories released, despite its popularity. 'Golden Time' is currently the 147th most popular anime in MyAnimeList, with a 7.74/ 10 rating from more than 541k votes.
So, if it is that popular, why was there never a second season? The reason is the source material. The first season has pretty much covered the entire eight volumes of the light novel series.
Aside from that, JC Staff Studio, the studio that produced the anime, has a track record of releasing one-season animes only. Some of JC Staff's works include 'Toradora 'and 'Maid-Sama. 'The studio always has several projects lined up, so they often have no time to produce a follow-up season for their hit animes.
Due to all of these reasons, a second season of 'Golden Time' is now unlikely to happen. But if there are any changes in the future, we will update this space for you.
'Golden Time' is not officially renewed for season 2 and is unlikely to get renewed in the future. Hence, there is no release date.
Banri Tada is a new student at a private law school in Tokyo. He is suffering from retrograde amnesia after falling from a bridge following his high-school graduation.
After the opening ceremony, a confused Banri tries to find his way to the freshman orientation. He meets an equally confused freshman named Mitsuo Yanagisawa, and they immediately become close.
When they arrive at the venue, a beautiful girl goes to Mitsuo with a bouquet of roses. She congratulates Mitsuo for getting into the school but hits him in the face before tossing the flowers at him. It turns out that this girl is Mitsuo's childhood friend, Koko Kaga.
When they were young, they made a pact to marry each other one day. She has taken the promise seriously, but Mitsuo didn't. Instead, he secretly enrolls in college to get away from her. Koko finds out and enrolls in the college, too.
Meanwhile, Banri meets Linda, a second-year student from the college.
Due to his memory loss, he did not recognize that Linda was his high-school best friend. Linda blames herself for Banri's memory loss. As the anime progresses, we see Banri slowly regain his memories, which often creates conflicts with his blossoming relationship with Koko.
Banri Tada
Banri Tada is an astute law student suffering from retrograde amnesia. He has no memories of everything that happened before the accident.
Kōko Kaga
Kōko Kaga is a famous and well-liked girl from the law school. She is very beautiful, to the point that it is intimidating. She was initially obsessed with Mitsuo but later formed a deeper bond with Banri.
Mitsuo Yanagisawa
Mitsuo Yanagisawa is Banri's first friend in law school. Mitsuo and Koko used to be childhood friends. He is doing his best to avoid Kōko's advances. Mitsuo enrolls in the law school to avoid her but fails since Kōko manages to follow her there.
