Here are all the details for the biggest and bloodiest Titan brawl of the decade. Who will be the one true King of The Monsters?
Our favorite fictional monsters Godzilla and Kong are set to clash in a fiery battle in the upcoming film, Godzilla Vs Kong.
Directed by Adam Wingard, the film is the sequel to Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019) and Kong: Skull Island (2017).
The end of Godzilla: King of the Monsters treated us to an intriguing scene of cave paintings with Godzilla and Kong in a battle, which will finally happen this year. This isn't the first clash of the two monsters though. They already battled in 1962's King Kong vs. Godzilla, where Godzilla lost unfairly to King Kong who gained electrocution powers after being revived by a bolt of lightning. Will Godzilla win this time?
Let's dive deep and discuss everything you need to know about the upcoming brutal Titan battle.
Godzilla Vs. Kong is set to release on May 21, 2021. The film was originally due for release on May 2020, then was moved up to March 13, 2020, and was announced again to be delayed for November 20, 2020, before finally getting pushed to next year.
The delay was partly blamed on “King of the Monsters” underperformance on the box office, grossing only $110 million domestically and $385.9 million worldwide from its release compared to “Kong: Skull Island” which grossed $168 million domestic and $566 million worldwide.
“I think that ‘Godzilla vs. Kong’ will deliver for fans in a way they were looking for with ‘King of the Monsters,'
“But it might come out later in the year, so we can deliver an A+ movie.” Warner Brothers Chairman Toby Emmerich said during Produced By Conference.
Godzilla Vs Kong is the fourth film in Legendary's MonsterVerse, 36th film in the Godzilla franchise, and the 12th film in the King Kong franchise. The film is produced by Legendary Pictures and distributed by Warner Bros Pictures.
Basing on the premise announced by Legendary and Warner Brothers, it looks like the whole point of the film does not revolve solely on determining who's the King of The Monsters. A bigger issue lies ahead and it's up to the characters to save those who truly need saving.
Here's the official premise announced by Legendary and Warner Brothers:
"In a time when monsters walk the Earth, humanity's fight for its future sets Godzilla and Kong on a collision course that will see the two most powerful forces of nature on the planet collide in a spectacular battle for the ages. As Monarch embarks on a perilous mission into uncharted terrain and unearths clues to the Titans' origins, a human conspiracy threatens to wipe the creatures, both good and bad, from the face of the earth forever"
Godzilla and Kong will definitely have one hell of a fight. Leaks of its debut screening from Comic-Con Experience in Brazil have already confirmed that both monsters are of similar size. Although the leaks were promptly removed, it revealed Godzilla and Kong in an intense battle on top of what looks like a ship above the water.

Stranger Thing's Eleven, Millie Bobby Brown will portray Madison Russell, Dr. Mark's daughter. At the onset of the film, she will be torn between which monster she would side with. Homefront actor Kyle Chandler will play as Russell's father, Dr. Mark Russell who is also an expert anthrozoologist. Zhang Ziyi is also expected to return as Dr. Ilene Chen / Dr. Ling.
Other stars that we can expect to see in the film are Eiza González, Rebecca Hall, Julian Dennison, Jessica Henwick, and more.
As of this writing, Warner Brothers and Legendary have not released an official trailer yet, however, the movie already has an official youtube channel and we're expecting to see the trailer from there soon.
