'GLOW' Season 4: Everything We Know So Far

The  Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling was supposed to return for one last time, but where are they now?

GLOW

The Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling were supposed to put up one last grand fighting show in the ring after GLOW was officially renewed for season 4. Albeit, this sweet announcement came with a bitter side note when the Coronavirus pandemic hit the world. Here's what's next for GLOW.

Will There Be Glow Season 4?

Renewal Status: Canceled

In September  2019, Glow was renewed for a fourth and final season. However, in October 2020, Netflix changed its mind. The fourth and supposedly final season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic causing a production shutdown. It's unclear whether Netflix will reverse its decision once more, especially now that the world is basically over the pandemic. We will keep you posted on future updates.

What Could've Happened If GLOW Returned For Season 4?

A lot has changed in the lives of Ruth, Debbie, and the other female cast since they first met in the wrestling ring for Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling (GLOW) in season 1. We've seen how the girls' lives have changed, with GLOW's director Sam Sylvia guiding their careers through the succeeding seasons. In season 3, the team had taken a significant career leap after they took their wrestling show to Las Vegas. Season 3 ended with a bit of a cliffhanger, so fans and showrunners themselves were hoping that Netflix would approve season 4.

Speaking to Hollywood Reporter, creator Liz Flahive says: "We have a full story to tell, and whether or not we're idiots for not giving ourselves an ending this season remains to be seen (laughs),"

In season 3, we saw Debbie going behind her boyfriend JJ's back to buy a TV network and team up with Bash. Debbie plans to make Bash the president of the TV network. She's also planning to create a new wrestling show with new characters since they don't have the legal rights to GLOW. As everyone starts heading home for Christmas, Debbie approaches Ruth and tells her about the plan. Debbie wants Ruth to direct the new show saying this will be a "catapult into our future." Despite recent setbacks in Ruth's career, she turned down Debbie's offer stating, "That's your catapult, not mine."

Will Debbie continue with her plans without Ruth? Will their friendship fall out? What would happen with the other girls in the cast? We would've expected season 4 to wrap everything up.

When Is The Release Date Of GLOW Season 4?

Netflix has canceled the show despite the initial renewal. So we can no longer expect a release date unless the streamer reverses its decision again. Season 3 aired on August 9, 2019, with its official trailer dropping on June 17, 2019. People were speculating that season 4 would drop around the same time in 2021, but with the Coronavirus pandemic disrupting filming schedules worldwide, this was not possible. Shooting for season 4 was initially scheduled to start on February 18, 2020, and end on May 27, 2020. The team was forced to halt production in March, and in October 2020,  the show was officially canceled.

Who Could've Been In The Cast Of GLOW Season 4?

We were expecting to see the main cast return for season 4. Marc Maron had already been confirmed to return as GLOW's director Sam Sylvia. Kate Nash was also confirmed to reprise her role as Rhonda. Other cast members we were expecting to see are Betty Gilpin as Debbie, Britt Baron as Justine, Chris Lowell as Bash, and Sydelle Noel as Cherry, among others.

Unfortunately, all of the initial casting confirmations were also reversed after Netflix canceled the show.
