Gerard Butler Confirmed To Return As Mike Banning For 'Night Has Fallen'

Gerard Butler will reprise his role as Mike Banning in the fourth installment of the Has Fallen franchise.

If you are a big fan of the Has Fallen franchise, we have great news for you.

Gerard Butler is confirmed to come back in the ‘Night Has Fallen,’ the upcoming fourth installment in the action-packed film series.

Butler will pick up his role as Mike Banning, a former Army Ranger who worked as a protective agent for the Secret Service, the go-to guy who always saves the day. He will be represented by CAA and Alan Siegel Entertainment.

Millennium is set to launch sales at the virtual AFM this week on Night Has Fallen, Deadline reported.

Has Fallen screenplay writer Robert Kamen will also be returning to pen the script together with Ric Roman Waugh as director. The two previously worked together in Angel Has Fallen, the third film in the franchise which released on August 23, 2019.

Joining the team as producers are G-BASE’s Alan Siegel and Gerard Butler, Eclectic Picture’s Heidi Jo Markel, Les Weldon, and Millennium Media’s Jeffrey Greenstein, Jonathan Yunger, and Yariv Lerner.

Avi Lerner, Trevor Short, and Boaz Davidson will executive produce on behalf of Millennium Media.

Christa Campbell and Lati Grobman of Campbell Grobman Films are also joining as execs.

Filming will take place at Millennium Media’s Nu Boyana Studios in Bulgaria.

Not much is known regarding the film's plot as of this writing, but we expect it to include lots of extreme scenes that will test his resilience, wits, and jaw-dropping reflexes. Needless to say, this is going to be the fourth time for Butler to save America again!

Butler's character never runs out of flashy action scenes: from saving the president from kidnappers (Olympus Has Fallen), saving world leaders from assassination (London Has Fallen), and clearing his name after getting framed for an assassination attempt.

Each new film seems more outrageous than the last, and we can only wait for what crazy mission Banning would try to accomplish in the fourth installment.

Will it be more dangerous and explosive than the last? We will get our answers in time.

It is also still unclear who among the cast members are returning alongside Butler.

The film's release date is also yet to be announced.

The first 3 installments, Olympus Has Fallen (2013), London Has Fallen (2016), and Angel Has Fallen (2019), have taken more than $520M at the global box office.

With such a huge success to date, it would be no surprise if Night Has Fallen would be the grandest installment ever.
