2020 has surely surprised us with tremendous changes, but the human spirit remains resilient.

When theaters shut down as part of extreme measures against COVID-19, businesses quickly found a way to adapt to the new normal.

One of which is a recently opened cinema that has caught the attention of moviegoers for its unique concept.

Openaire Float-In cinema was recently launched in Paddington's Merchants Square, London, on Wednesday, September 2. The cinema offers 'very first cinematic experience by boat' in the UK. Openaire Float-In cinema is presented by Häagen-Dazs, a popular ice cream brand.

Level-up your movie dates with loved ones, family, and friends, by watching classic films aboard the boats under the starry night sky on Regent's Canal most nights this month.

Openaire has partnered with GoBoat London to bring this unique movie experience in the UK.

They're inviting hundreds of moviegoers to enjoy movie screenings.

The cinema has 16 boats ready with social distancing features so you won't have to worry about catching the virus when enjoying the films.

Openaire Cinema can cater to up to 128 people. Those who do not feel like going on board the boats can opt to stay and watch the film on land. They will be providing a limited number of deck chairs in the square, so moviegoers can still have an outdoor movie experience.

What's more, is you get the chance to win a free Häagen-Dazs ice cream too!

The movies will be screened in a six-by-three meter LED screen. Each guest will be provided with noise-canceling headphones to listen to the movie's audio.

Some of the iconic films lined up for screening this month are Moana, Toy Story, The Lion King, Bridesmaids, Dirty Dancing, Titanic, Mrs. Doubtfire, Back to the Future, A Star is Born, and Jaws. Grease, Rocketman, and The Greatest Showman are also scheduled to be played in Openaire cinema.

"Enjoy these movie phenomenons on the UK's biggest ever riverside screen with crystal clear sound streaming straight to your boat or deck chair where you are served an extraordinary indulgence of Häagen-Dazs ice cream," its official website says.

Hungry? No problem! Openaire Cinema has partnered with artisan pasta pop-up RaviOllie to cater to your tummy's needs too.

After all, movies and good food could never go wrong when together.
