On Sunday, Naughty Dog revealed a first look at HBO's adaptation of the hit video game 'The Last Of Us'.
The Last Of Us TV series has been in development for quite some time now over at HBO. The series will be based on the hit video game of the same name by Naughty Dog.
It is set 20 years after the world faced an apocalypse due to a deadly fungus that turns people into monsters. It follows survivor Joel who is hired to smuggle a girl named Ellie from an oppressive quarantine zone. The job, however, proves to be a lot tougher than Joel had initially expected.
Pedro Pascal from Game Of Thrones will be leading the series as Joel. He will be joined by another Game Of Thrones alum, Bella Ramsey.
Naughty Dog revealed the first look at the show on Sunday in a tweet. In the tweet we see Pascal and Ramsey from the back, looking on at the wreckage of a plane on a grassy hill. The two look almost identical to their characters as portrayed in the video games. Check it out below:
Other members of the cast include Gabriel Luna as Joel’s brother Tommy and Nico Parker as Joel’s daughter Sarah. Merle Dandridge will also be reprising her video game role as Marlene, the leader of the Fireflies.
Kantemir Balagov will direct the pilot. Jasmila Žbanić and Ali Abbasi are also attached to direct episodes.
Craig Mazin, creator of Chernobyl will write and executive produce along with Neil Druckmann. The two will be joined by Carolyn Strauss, Rose Lam, Naughty Dog president Evan Wells, and PlayStation Productions’ Asad Qizilbash and Carter Swan as executive producers.
