AMC’s Fear the Walking Dead has been picked up for its eighth season! Since 2015, the series has released seven seasons so far with the season 7 mid-season finale airing on December 5, 2021. The Walking Dead spinoff will conclude Season 7 by June. It may be premature to discuss season 8 without season 7 officially coming to an end, but let's have a look anyway!
Like we said, we'll have to finish up with this season to have some idea about the plot of the upcoming season. AMC has released a synopsis for Season 7B stating: "In the second half of Season 7, months have passed after the nuclear blast and the only one thriving is Victor Strand. Having built a fiefdom, he callously selects who will have a chance at life. The other members of the group have suffered immensely, but out of that, has come a fierce determination to live, even if it means taking Strand's Tower by force and continuing the search for Padre, a mythical place no one is sure really exists. Alicia, now the reluctant leader to Teddy's (John Glover) former followers, is plagued by a mysterious illness and the repercussions of her past actions. Morgan (Lennie James), trying to maintain hope that he will be reunited with his family, knows Alicia is key to their survival. With Alicia declaring war, Strand's paranoia and personal vendettas grow, and with that, new threats emerge from all sides."

AMC Networks confirmed the return of Alicia's mother Madison Clark, played by popular former cast member Kim Dickens. Fans saw her in seasons 1 through 4 of Fear the Walking Dead. Now she has returned in the second half of season 7 and will continue as a series regular in season 8.
As for the other characters, it's hard to say since a lot of characters would end up being killed off on the show. For now, the season 7B cast members include: Lennie James (Morgan), Alycia Debnam-Carey (Alicia), Colman Domingo (Victor), Danay Garcia (Luciana), Austin Amelio (Dwight), Mo Collins (Sarah), Alexa Nisenson (Charlie), Karen David (Grace), Christine Evangelista (Sherry), Colby Hollman (Wes), Jenna Elfman (June), Keith Carradine (John Dorie Sr.), and Ruben Blades (Daniel) according to ComicBook.com.

Unfortunately, there's no word on a release date set just yet, but until then fans can catch up with Fear the Walking Dead’s remaining Season 7 episodes, which air Sunday nights on AMC at 9:00 p.m, reports Cinema Blend.
