The story is based on the graphic novel and webcomic series by Alice Oseman. It follows Charlie Spring as he falls for Nick Nelson, the school's star rugby player, and the romance that sparks between them. The story also follows their friend group consisting of Tao, Elle, Isaac, Tara, and Darcy. The adaptation is being praised for the diverse representation as well as the performances by the young cast.
