Has Extracurricular Been Renewed For Season 2?
Netflix is yet to renew Extracurricular for season 2. The K-series landed on the streaming platform on April 29, 2020, however, its renewal status remains unknown as of this writing. Netflix often takes at least a month before deciding whether to renew a show or not but with thousands of titles released on the platform, delays in renewal can be expected. However, fans should also know that most Korean shows are planned for one season only. So despite its success, there is a possibility that season 2 might never happen.
The Plot: What Is Extracurricular All About And What Can Happen In Season 2?
Extracurricular follows Ji-soo, an academically achieving high school student who lives a double life to pursue his dreams of going to a University. Ji-soo works as a security service provider for an illegal prostitution business. Things escalated quickly after Gyu-ri found Ji-soo’s business phone and blackmails him. Season 1 ended in a cliffhanger leaving Ji-soo in a “bloody situation” after Ki-tae stabs him multiple times when he found Min-hee’s phone covered in blood in Ji-soo’s possession.
Detective Lee has also started suspecting Ji-soo and the members of the Social Issues Research club for involvement in illegal activities, despite Mr. Cho vouching for Ji-soo’s character describing him as a good student. Towards the end of season 1, the detective arrived at Ji-soo’s empty apartment and found traces of blood. Although she didn’t catch Ji-soo there, he’s certainly up for more trouble if the show gets renewed for season 2.
