Exception made its debut on Netflix on October 12, 2022, and it's adapted from an original story written by Hirotaka Adachi. Exception might have received a lukewarm response from most anime lovers, but some netizens have praised its stunning worldbuilding, clever plot, and unique style of CGI animation. Exception might be the only high-concept sci-fi space adventure on Netflix at the moment and we can’t help but wonder if there is a possibility of its renewal or not. Let’s move ahead to find out everything we know so far about Exception season 2.

Will Exception Return With Season 2?

Renewal Status: Pending/Most Likely Canceled

Exception has unfortunately not been renewed for a second season yet but depending on how popular it gets on Netflix, we just might get the continuation of the story. The show is currently performing moderately worldwide and has not climbed up to the Top 10 List on Netflix yet. There is no denying that Exception is binge-worthy, and apart from a few loose ends, there was no cliffhanger in the final episode.

What Is The Plot Of Exception?

Season one of Exception might start off looking like a generic sci-fi space exploration plot, but it gains depth with the progression of each episode. In this story, mankind is forced to leave Earth and find another suitable galaxy and planet to repopulate there by terraforming it. A biological 3D printing device creates copies of the crew sent out on a mission to Planet X-10 which could possibly be the new habitable planet for humans. But the printing machine malfunctions to create a deformed monstrous creature that poses a threat to the entire crew and their project. The rest of the show takes the audience on a thrilling ride through the voids of space as we question if the crew can survive this monster and succeed in their mission or not.

Who Is In The Cast And Crew Of Exception?

There are five primary characters in this anime. Lewis is voiced by Chikahiro Kobayashi. Nina, Mack, and Oscar are voiced by Yūko Kaida, Takahiro Sakurai, and Takanori Hoshino respectively. What Can We Expect in Exception Season 2?
