'Kamisama Kiss' or 'Kamisama Hajimemashita' is a Japanese manga series that is written by Julietta Suzuki, and the author himself does the illustrations. TMS Entertainment produced an anime adaptation of the show, and Akitaro Daichi directed it. The show began airing in October 2012 and earned instant popularity among the masses. Funimation streamed the show, and a second season was announced and premiered in January 2015. But what about a third season? Here is everything that you need to know about it.
The anime first aired in October of 2012. The second season premiered in Japan on January 6, 2015, and ran until March 31, 2015. It has been over eight years since then, but there has been no news regarding a renewal for a third season. Unfortunately, this is not good news, and it is highly unlikely that a third season will be produced, especially since the OVAs skipped most of the manga and went straight to the end. If a third season is released, it may cover all of the chapters that were skipped, as this is not uncommon in the world of anime. For example, Horimiya was in the same position, and the studio released a new season covering the skipped chapters called Horimiya: The Missing Pieces.
There are a lot of people who love watching Japanese Anime shows in English. Well, people who want to watch the show in English or in the English dub can find the episodes in Funimation and Anime-Planet.
The story of the anime follows the character Nanami who lives a very difficult life, mainly because of her incompetent and gambler father. One day, Nanami and her father are kicked out of the house since her father has failed to pay rent after losing all the money he had in gambling. The debt collectors start chasing her. Nanami, not knowing what to do or how to save herself, hides temporarily and eventually begins living on the streets. One day, she sees a man being chased by a dog, and she helps him out. Later during the show, Nanami learns that the name of the man is Mikage, and he is a local Earth deity. When the man learns Nanami's story, he transfers all his celestial powers to Nanami, and now she is forced to balance her celestial life with a regular one.
No spoiler for the third season of the show is available since the show is yet to be renewed for a third season.
Well, right now, there's no official word about Kamisama Kiss: Season 3. So, we can only speculate about which studio might take the reins. If you enjoyed the quality of the first two seasons, it would be great if the same companies that worked on them returned for the third installment.
For Season 1, a collaboration of TV Tokyo, Dentsu, Sotsu, Pony Canyon, Hakusensha, and DAX Production came together to bring it to life. However, things changed a bit for Season 2. Only Dentsu and Sotsu remained as co-producers.
When it comes to the animation itself, TMS Entertainment was responsible for both seasons as well as the OVAs. So, if they were to continue, you could expect a similar animation style and quality. But, until an official announcement is made, we'll have to keep our fingers crossed and hope for the best.

Nanami Momozono- Nanami is the main protagonist of the show. She is a teenager who grew up with a troubled childhood and faced a lot of problems, primarily because of her father's addiction to gambling. After her father falls deep into debt, they both are kicked out of their house, and Nanami's life falls into despair. But, soon enough, her life takes a complete turn when she saves a man from a dog while she is struggling to survive on the streets. Later on the line, Nanami discovers that the man she saved, named Mikage, is a local Earth deity, and he has transferred all his powers to Nanami.
Tomoe- Tomoe is a Fox yokai and is familiar to the former Earth deity Mikage. Later during the show, when he learns that Mikage has transferred all his powers to Nanami, he understandably is not happy with the entire situation and is initially very hostile and rude towards Nanami. Later in the show, after Nanami reveals her feelings for Tomoe, he also realizes that he is in love with her and reciprocates the feelings back. Tomoe is shown to be an extremely powerful character and can easily disable any other familiars.
