Everything You Need To Know About Netflix's 'Halston', Including A Potential Season 2

'Halston' dropped on Netflix today and people can't stop talking about it. Find out everything you need to know about the show.

Halston

'Halston' recently dropped on Netflix and it's got everyone talking. It's bursting with fashion, sex, egos, dreams, and drugs. The entire show's plot is so irresistible, much like Halton's couture designs.

The series is produced by 'American Horror Story' producer Ryan Murphy and stars Ewan McGregor for the lead role.

'Halston' depicts the story of the legendary fashion designer. Although the mini-series had its fair share of controversies, fans loved it and can't stop discussing it on social media.

Just in case you haven't watched the series yet, let's talk about it below and find out about the possibility of a sequel.

Halston

Who Is 'Halston'?

Halston is an American fashion designer who rose to international fame in the 1960s. He rose to fame after designing the pink pillbox hat worn by first lady Jackie Kennedy to her husband’s inauguration. He was the favorite go-to designer of the celebrities, and he is friends with famous people including Anjelica Huston, Greta Garbo, Lauren Bacall, Andy Warhol, Margaux Hemingway, Elizabeth Taylor, Liza Minnelli, and Bianca Jagger.

He died in 1990 due to AIDS-related cancer.

What Is The Plot Of Netflix's 'Halston'?

The Netflix series features the famous designer's tumultuous life, including his rise to fame, his growing inner struggle as his business becomes bigger, and his insatiable desire to continue building his fashion empire.

Netflix already dropped the trailer for the series, and it honestly has a very dark and heavy vibe to it. It's a cautionary tale of what happens when you play with power and unknowingly allow it to consume you.

Watching the series though will make you marvel at the brilliance of Halston's mind, especially when it comes to growing a gigantic business from scratch.

Although the Netflix series is based on a real person, viewers must be aware that the series might not accurately represent a thorough dynamic of Halston's character.

Halston’s niece and the founder and director of the Halston Personal Archives, Lesley Frowick, already released a statement saying that no one reached out to her while creating the series.

As a custodian of the archives, I was not consulted in any way,” she said. “[I] was unaware [of the show] until the project was near completion and the promotional activity started.”

Frowick added that the 2019 documentary by Frédéric Tcheng, also called Halston, should be “considered the comprehensive record” of the late designer’s life.

“These people who didn’t know him well, perhaps because they were mere children during the Halston apogee, often like to focus on the most sensational parts of the story,” she said of the Netflix series. “Those details tend to be overinflated rather than placing the rightful emphasis on his incredible gift as an artist, the depth of his contribution to American fashion, his work ethic and his success as one of the first true American fashion influencers.”

Will There Be 'Halston' Season 2?

As mentioned, the show is originally planned to be a limited series, which means that the producers might not be thinking about another season. The series is currently picking up a lot of attention. However, as much as we would love to see 'Halston' return, the first season has pretty much concluded the biopic. There were no longer loose endings, and even Halston's death was tackled right before the credits rolled. The series concluded in a bittersweet ending. It was both poignant, peaceful, and beautiful. Picking up the story again might not be the best idea, considering how moving season one's ending is.
