'Devilman Crybaby' is a Netflix Original Japanese anime series that is based on the manga 'Devilman.' The show is directed by Masaaki Yuasa and is based on the manga series that is written by Ichirō Ōkouchi. This is the second original anime on the platform of the streaming giant after the release of 2017's 'Castlevania.' What Is The Plot Of Devilman Crybaby?

It is known that the Devil can take control of someone's body, but if the possessed human has a will-power of their own, they can overcome the Devil and can make the powers their own and become a Devilman. The main protagonist of the show is known as Akira Fudou, who, in the beginning, is portrayed as a weak young boy. But things change for the better after he meets his childhood best friend, who asks Akira's help in discovering demons. 

Who Are Some Primary Characters Of The Show?

Ryou Asuka- Ryou is described to be the best friend of Akira and is later separated after Akira switches schools. Both of them are reunited again after Ryou asks for Akira's help when the devil reappears once again. In order to stop the Devil from acting out his plan, Ryou suggests that he and Akira should switch bodies. 

Devilman- Akira is the Devilman in the show. Before becoming the Devilman, he was a very timid boy who never learned to stand up for himself. But things change after he becomes the Devilman, and he becomes more ruthless and aggressive to anyone who tries to harm him. 

Akira-  Described to be a kind but timid teenager, Akira never could stand up for himself. Sometime later in the series, he is approached by Ryou in order to stop Devil from taking over the world. But he and Ryou come up with a plan that makes Akira the Devilman, and it changes his life forever.
