Code Geass is a Japanese Anime series that is officially been in the news of being made again for a third season.
The franchise of Manga and anime have gone through a long hiatus a number of times before getting a sequel or a follow-up series. The same goes for 'Code Geass' and the fans are hoping to see the third season of its animated series. The fans who follow the series know by now that the much awaited new season is slated to be released in 2019. Here is everything you need to know about 'Code Geass' season 3.
The producer of the series will not follow the typical series format, but the story will continue with an all-new installment in 2019. The fans also need to note that it will be a sequel movie officially titled 'Code Geass: Lelouch of the Resurrection.' There has been quite some confusion about the third season of the anime series as it is still in the pipeline when the producers implied that they are working on a new project.

This leads the fans to believe that the producers are working on the third season. The plot of the tv show reads, "In an alternate timeline, the world is divided into three superpowers: the Holy Britannian Empire, the Chinese Federation, and the European Union. The story takes place after the Holy Britannian Empire's conquest of Japan on August 10, 2010 a.t.b., by means of Britannia's newest weapon, the "Autonomous Armored Knight", or "Knightmare Frame". In turn, Britannia effectively strips Japan and its citizens of all rights and freedoms and renames the country Area 11 with its citizens referred to as Elevens."

Even though the fans are fervently hoping that there is a third season of the series, there is also a chance that 'Code Geass: Lelouch of the Resurrection' might serve as the last chapter of the franchise. Initially, Code Geass was conceived as an anime series, but there is no light novel or manga, which could serve a source for another anime adaptation. Therefore, the decision on renewal may depend only on the Sunrise studio. The season 2 of the series was concluded back in 2008 and since then, no third season has been announced.
