"Elisha Applebaum: It was amazing. I think that we were all in very similar positions in which this was a lot of our big first moment to prove ourselves as actors and come into a space that’s very new, and we were all very nervous and very excited. We all leaned on each other, which was very nice," Elisha told Brieftake

During an interview with HeyUGuys, Elisha was asked if she's thankful that she didn't go to school as a teenager now, knowing how much pressure social media brings to students in a class.

Elisha quickly answered: 

"Oh my goodness, yeah. Also what the younger generation has to live up to now with regards to how we look and how we express ourselves is so different, and it's all about what it looks like in a four-by-six frame. It's horrible,"

9. She Hopes That People Will See Past The Casting Controversy

Elisha's casting for the role of Musa in 'Fate: The Winx Saga' suffered a backlash from people who accused the show of whitewashing. In the animated series, Musa's appearance was inspired by Lucy Liu and appears to be Asian. Although Elisha is partly Singaporean, people aren't happy with her predominantly white features.

She said that the backlash affected her admitting"it’s really sad to see that fans were upset with the casting.”

But she hopes that they will see past the controversy and continue to be more open-minded.

“I wasn’t involved in the casting but I hope that what they’ve seen and how I’ve portrayed Musa was to their liking.”

“I’ve only seen great reviews back from them so they’ve been open-minded from what I’ve created, so I hope that it continues to be that way.”

10. She Is Inspired By The Haunting of Bly Manor's Amelia Eve

Elisha Applebaum has found an incredible friendship in Amelia Eve. Amelia starred as Jamie Taylor, the dry-witted gardener of Netflix's horror drama series 'The Haunting of Bly Manor'.

According to Elisha, she and Amelia used to see each other almost every week just to talk about life and share notes about upcoming auditions.

"It was a weird one, actually, my friend, Amelia [Eve], she has done a Netflix series (The Haunting of Bly Manor), and she and I, we were meeting up almost every week and just chatting about life and egging each other on, telling each other we can do it, and we were giving each other auditions (and still are), but we sat in her garden and were like: we can do this, it’s gonna happen, we can feel it."

11. She Has A Podcast Focusing On Female Empowerment

Elisha's serious when it comes to using her voice for conversations that matter. She's started a podcast in February to talk about "how women haven’t had a voice in the industry and we’re starting to (do this) and how we can continue that and create a bigger platform for us."
