'Dynasty' Season 3: Here's Everything We Know So Far

Dynasty season 2 left a lot of things hanging and fans have so many questions. But before any of these questions are answered we must first try to figure it out if we are even getting a new season....and when?

The CW is on fire right now and is definitely one of the few Cable Networks that can compete with the emergence of online streaming services like Netflix and Amazon Prime. One of the biggest and most successful new shows to come out of The CW recently is the rebooted drama series "Dynasty". The show was created by Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, the team that brought us the likes of Gossip Girl, The O.C., and Marvel's Runaways. Season 1 was a blast and so was season 2. But now, many questions are lingering about the prospect of a season 3. And well, we got some good news. The CW has officially renewed the series for a third season and here are the details that we have about it so far.

'Dynasty' Season 3 Premiere Date?

The CW has announced its fall lineup at this winter's bi-annual Television Critics Association and to the joy of many TV enthusiasts, Dynasty is among the TV shows in the list. Dynasty has been confirmed to be released on October 11th at 9 pm ET. It will maintain its Friday slot and will be accompanied by the new season of 'Charmed'.

Dynasty Season 3 Plot

Yes, we got the full plot of the new season as the official synopsis has been released:

As DYNASTY hurtles into its explosive third season, the Carrington family will face the unknown on all fronts. Dealing with the fallout from the startling second season finale, Fallon (Elizabeth Gillies) is surrounded by a host of rivals looking to destroy her, the most wicked of which is her own brother, Adam (Sam Underwood), who takes the idea of “sibling rivalry” to a whole new level of crazy.
At the same time, Fallon and Liam (Adam Huber) attempt to keep their romance sane, but secrets and skeletons from her closet will make that more difficult than ever. And after a year of “me” time, Blake (Grant Show) will jump back in the game, ruthlessly determined to reclaim what’s rightfully his: the family company Fallon sold out from under him. Only problem is that the newest Colby in town, Blake’s half-sister Dominique (Michael Michele), is here to stay and she isn’t backing down from a fight over what’s rightfully hers, either.

Meanwhile, Sammy Jo (Rafael De La Fuente) enters an exhilarating phase of the upper-class life, but amongst the thrills of his newfound freedom, there will be dangers lurking. Plus, who knows what faces – new and old, friendly and unfriendly - will pop up! The road ahead is full of the shocking twists and turns you’ve come to expect from the Carrington world. And if we know anything by this point in the series, it’s that our fractured family will have to find a way to come together if they are to claw their way back to the top of the billionaire mountain.

Dynasty Season 3 Cast

So Nathalie Kelley's character was killed off so we most likely won't be seeing her again. Liam (Adam Huber) was also attacked by Adam and left face down in a swimming pool so it's unclear whether he will survive. But we can expect most of the other core cast members to return which includes Fallon (Elizabeth Gillies), Adam (Sam Underwood), the real Cristal (Ana Brenda Contreras), Kirby (Maddison Brown), Blake (Grant Show), Michael (Robert Christopher Riley), Jeff (Sam Adegoke), Dominique (Michael Michele), Joseph (Alan Dale), Monica (Wakeema Hollis) and Sammy Jo (Rafael De La Fuente).

As you may have noticed, James Mackay, who plays Stephen was not added to the list of returning cast members as his role in this new season is questionable, especially after the following Instagram post:

This does not mean that he will not be returning though as it was confirmed by a network representative that he will be appearing in a few episodes but just not as many as before. He will no longer be a series regular.

We also got some bad news from the crew as it has been announced that showrunner Sallie Patrick will not be returning.
