Techland's zombie-parkour game is now coming out with its sequel. According to the official website, the first game Dying Light "is a first-person action survival game set in a post-apocalyptic open-world overrun by flesh-hungry zombies. Roam a city devastated by a mysterious virus epidemic. Scavenge for supplies, craft weapons, and face hordes of the infected." So, what's in store for the sequel? Well, Dying Light 2 takes place 15 years after the first game. Here's what we know so far.

Unfortunately, the game release has been delayed indefinitely. It was given a spring 2020 release window, however, in January 2020, Techland announced that the sequel was delayed, reported PC Gamer. The developer has been pretty quiet about an official date of release so far. In a statement, CEO Paweł Marchewka said, "We were initially aiming for a Spring 2020 release with Dying Light 2, but unfortunately, we need more development time to fulfill our vision. We will have more details to share in the coming months and will get back to you as soon as we have more information. We apologize for this unwelcome news. Our priority is to deliver an experience that lives up to our own high standards and to the expectations of you, our fans."
Also, huge dying light fan. I have put in so many hours into that game. I haven’t played a game that long and had so much fun since it came out. Can’t wait for part 2. I still play part one even though I had it day one in 2015— Truebluefan23 ✭✭✭ (@TrueBlueFan23) January 23, 2021
Following up 15 years later, the game will move into the "new dark ages." The website states: It’s been 15 years since humanity lost to the virus. The last great human settlement exists within an unforgiving, infected world, plunged into a modern dark age. During the day, bandits, factions, and starving survivors roam the streets scavenging for scraps - or someone to take them from, by violence if necessary. At night the infected roam free, evacuating their dark hideouts to prey on the living. You are Aiden Caldwell, an infected survivor. Your exceptional agility and brutal combat skills make you a powerful ally and a valuable commodity in this dangerous world. You can achieve things no one else can. Enter places no one else dares. With your unique abilities, you have the power to be an agent of change within this decaying metropolis.

Games Radar describes The Dying Light 2 gameplay demo as "a sight to behold" where players can expect stunning visuals. As for the setting and characters, the outlet got in touch with Dying Light 2’s Lead Game Designer Tymon Smektała who shared, "We have this whole cycle of infected life in the game. The infected start as a Viral, which is someone who just got bitten and just got infected, so they still show traces of humanity, and at this point, they are very quick, very dangerous – they avoid the sun at all costs. But after some time in that state, they turn into what we call Biters, which are your regular zombies; slowly moving infected that, if able, will try and grab you and infect you or eat you, but the sunlight is dangerous to them, and they are not as quick and as agile as the Virals."
Fascinating, eh? We hope the announcement for the release comes soon!
